Article behind a paywall. So do they want all pharmacies to pretty much be like ABC stores in some states?
Sorry about the paywall. Basically, these PBMs are cornering the drug market and making prices artificially high.

There are three major PBMs. CVS, Express Scripts, and some other one I can't remember.

CVS is considered the largest. CVS owns Aetna. CVS owns pharmacies. This is termed, "Vertical Integration", where the same company owns the insurance companies, pharmacies, and other parts of the drug supply chain which gives them the ability to falsely manipulate drug prices. They can also use it to shut down the competition, like mom and pop drug stores by forcing their insurance customers to use their stores. They also give rebates on their drugs and then keep the rebates through their pharmacies, thereby cheating the books. They are also guilty of collusion.

So, yet another example of why anti-monopoly laws need to be enforced ASAP. It might not completely solve the problem but it sure would help.

15B "investment" by Japan but US remains in control. Nippon hasn't commented on whether they accept the US control provision.

Strange deal. Not excited about Japan owning US Steel, but if they allow US Steel's competitor to buy it, US Steel will be closed in order to raise domestic steel prices.

US government to have control in Nippon Steel-U.S. Steel deal, Trump and Sen. McCormick say

U.S. Sen. David McCormick said Tuesday that an arrangement that will allow Japan-based Nippon Steel to invest in U.S. Steel will guarantee an American CEO, a majority of board members from the United States and U.S. government approval over certain corporate functions.

Don't give up on those boycotts. They are feeling the pain.

Walmart, Target and other companies warn about growing consumer boycotts

Companies are warning investors about the risks of becoming the next target of angry customers.

Corporate America is required to disclose risks to their businesses in their annual regulatory filings. This year, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Corona-parent Constellation Brands join an increasing number of companies advising investors about customer and legal backlash to their diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies and environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. They’re also giving notice of the risks of rolling back these programs.

Does CVS actually manufacture their meds?

We have to do something!!!!!
The masks were there to alert your brain that something was not right. If something is right, you have to adjust your behavior to make it right. You adjust your behaviors because your leaders told you it was an emergency. Your leaders then made life a never ending emergency.

"These emergency powers you have given me, I will lay down when this crisis has abated."
- Palpatine

Except the crisis is never abated.

They couldn't have passed the bills or eo the mandates without an emergency. That mask told you we were in an emergency. Without the reminder, the sheep would have returned to normal.

Remember the initial sell? The old-timey Spanish flu pics of the populous donning bandanas and cloth masks. It never was asked if they wore them days, weeks, months or years on end. We knew that what they wore in 1918 didn't work, but they were doing something.

First we had a 30 day mandate. To get our kids back in school, if you wear this mask for 30 days, we can get through this. Then renewed for another 30, but no school. Then another, but no school. On and on until, "don't ask us, we'll tell you when it's over."

When it became obvious the masks weren't doing anything, then came the pivot. Well, might as well double up with two masks, maybe three. Then the megablues and vh found their new best friend N95. We knew how many microns the virus was. We knew how many microns the N95 would protect. It didn't matter. The megablues were doing something and were going to shame you for not doing something.

The beauty of the covid power grab scam was - it wasnt even new. It was literally global warming scam repackaged and resold. All the way down to the "experts agree", "trust the science", and "we're in this together".

They had the most important characteristic, which is key to any liberal scam: an incurable disease (global warming/climate change/climate disruption, racism, etc). Thats because the power was in the problem, not in the cure. If it looks like the problem might get solved, it morphs into another rainbow with an unattainable pot of gold.

So, my ex-wife, who lives on the KY-TN-VA border, is remarrying next month at age 65. Happy for her. Maybe she'll leave me alone.

Her future hubby sold his Harley-Davidson and threw away all HD accessories in protest of HDI policy on gay inclusion. Personally speaking, and as both a shareholder and Hog owner, I view the move as a business decision. None of my concern what goes on behind closed doors except if children involved. Apparently some folks believe otherwise. That's the beauty of the great country -- believe what you want unless others affected.

Perfectly states the difference between Repubs and Dems.

Repubs: go ahead and do what you want... be a freak, whatever... just don't bother me.

Dems: DO WHAT WE SAY AT ALL TIMES!

I was a little worried about Oweh but I guess common sense kicked in for the man. I still won't be completely happy until all 14 are enrolled and attending class. Nearly 3 months away anything can happen, i.e. Acaden Lewis. There's only 200 minutes of playing time per game which will make for some intense practices. I'm sure Pope sold some of these guys on a 2 year or more plan because I just can't see keeping all these guys happy if they expect to play and not warm the bench. Young athletes have a lot of confidence and won't back down from a challenge. All probably think they're good enough to start.

Probably the deepest team in UK history now that the scholarship limit is 15. Excited as I've been in a long time and the first game isn't until November.

Go Cats!

Practices are going to be like High level games. Even if a couple of teams have a bit better starting 5, we are three deep with little drop off and will just wear teams out by being relentless.

Mayor Gorton w/ another ribbon cutting yesterday at the new "park" by the river, Kelley's Landing.

https://www.kentucky.com/news/local/counties/fayette-county/article307385196.html

The master plan estimates the total cost to build out the park to sit between $11.8 and $14.6 million.
Building stuff ain't cheap anymore. I don't pay Fayette County taxes, but I see no issues with tax dollars being spent on projects like that for the community to use. If a private investor was to do that, you'd likely have to pay an admission to get in. That's how i expect my tax dollars to be spent to improve the infrastructure and provide ammenities for the communities use. I'd rather it go into that than into overpaying bureaucrats, shelling out millions to settle lawsuits for the shitty actions of your police force, DEI initiatives, and all that type BS.

Aren’t most HD riders gay? The chaps, leather vests, fancy patches, sleeveless shirts, leather boots, etc.

I just assumed they were all big bears.

Normally, perhaps, but this city has numerous issues that $14M would be better spent on than a park by the river.

I don’t live in Lex, but this is the sort of thing I would want if I lived there. I like the greenbelt parks in Louisville and like the improvements to the waterfront.

I give an annual contribution to the Parklands in Louisville, because I use and enjoy the park. I believe that park is a mix of private and public funds. The website says more than $70 million comes from private sources, $38 million from federal funds, $10 million from the state, and $1.5 million from Metro government. It does not receive taxpayer funding for annual operations.

People can debate the legitimacy of any of that public funding, but the mix of private and public funding for projects people want is probably good.

I would think Lexington could do the same. If you cannot raise a chunk of the cost through private donations, it might not be a project worth doing.

My issue is that the spread of disease, children born out of wedlock (especially to the young and/or impoverished), and other “side effects” of things that go on behind closed doors b/w “consenting adults”, do impact all of us in the nanny state we have created.

We cover healthcare costs for the poor, we pay to feed and educate any child who needs it, etc.

Actions have consequences, and we all share the cost of those consequences.
