These companies are riding the wave just as they did with the woke insanity. This is mostly measured by social media interaction etc.
I remember some of us discussing in here exactly how social media manipulation had to be costing companies tons of money because it was not representative of the average American. Yet by all metrics, it was the overwhelming opinion of the nation. Thats why you saw some companies (like Budweiser) make otherwise asinine decisions.
Now for sure there were some woke companies that were trying to further he narrative, but any company actually tricked by manipulated algorithms should absolutely have a mega lawsuit vs social media both privately and as agents of the us government. Those tricked companies were legitimately defrauded by the bots and manipulated algorithms.
