Well, now that the election is over, lo and behold, the Harris-Biden administration has announced its approval of California's waiver request to proceed with its EV mandate. Given that a number of states have pledged / committed to following California standards, this would at the least lead to serious fragmentation in the vehicle market. If allowed to stand, it would be the first step towards forcing consumers to purchase EVs.
