I’m sure it was considered, but the Taiwan strait is a lot more foreboding than the flat terrain that Russia encountered. China would need 50:1 soldiers to go on the offensive, maybe more. Plus Japan, South Korea, and US would be ready to protect their investments. TSMC will go scorch earth if it looks like they’ll lose a war with china, which is the biggest reason to invade.

I think there’s still a chance they invade. Lots of people say that 2027 or 2028 could have been target date all along, but china has some huge problems right now. Their man made islands are sinking and even worse, youth unemployment is over 25%.

If they aren’t careful, the youth could revolt like they did in 1989.

House Republicans are eyeing a new spending proposal that would tee up votes on three separate measures: to fund the government, appropriate disaster relief and allocate farm assistance, three sources told The Hill.

Republicans are working towards an agreement to cut trillions of dollars in spending in exchange for an increase in the borrowing limit next year under reconciliation, the sources said. One of the sources said negotiators are exchanging numbers regarding the cuts and debt limit hike.

The sources cautioned that the proposal is not set in stone because Republican leadership still has to present it to the entire GOP conference. The continuing resolution would run until March 14 and have a one-year farm bill extension attached, two sources said.

The plan to split the main contours of the plan B bill into separate votes is nearly identical to what Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) had pitched to GOP leaders on Thursday night after the bill that included a two-year debt ceiling increase failed.
