POLITICAL THREAD

How will they rule ??!

  • YES - Qualified

    Votes: 41 82.0%
  • NO - Disqualified

    Votes: 9 18.0%

  • Total voters
    50
  • Poll closed .
25% of Republican voters can't be idiots, can they? Who knew Trump would take such a commanding lead heading into the GOP debate?

I haven't seen any polls yet because I've taken a break from politics just to not be pissed off all the time but I think any candidate who did not go the PC route and do the same political rhetoric was going to be seen as favorable considering what we've been used to.

I still see no way he can win the nomination.

Well, two interesting stories tonight. First, the probe into Hilary's email shenanigans is now a criminal investigation, according to the NY Post. Second, a Senate Report says the IRS targeted conservative groups, and specifically targeted Bristol Palin, which was a well thought out plan.

So the Dems have a choice between a criminal and a socialist......

Hillary's inevitability sure is cracking.

Not really. They whine more and are kind of wimpy. As I said earlier, lefties piss and moan but eventually just kind of go away like the kid whose parents ignore their cries.

I prefer my angry political rants to be filled with full-on rage, a pinch of poor spelling and a dash of Jesus.

For example, I've seen a political argument or 20 in my day. Lefties go into pout mode and storm off like girls. Righties, get so mad they turn red, spit when they talk and in extreme circumstances threaten to fight and/ormake threats to shoot/kill their political adversaries. <---- That's the passion I'm looking for.
It sounds like the lefties have an estrogen problem

Would prefer not to. I really do not like any who are running on either side. Yet there are a couple who I will vote against.

Like the people who voted for Obama, twice.
MOST of the people who voted for Obama did so simply because he was black. He was never veted and has been protected his entire Presidency by Harry Reid and the media...Just like they will vote for HC on being able to say they were part of history...She, like BO would be a disaster...

I mean, it makes sense bc their policy stances have been so touching similar over the decades.

Other than NAFTA, I dont recall having any problems with Clinton's policies. He was a moderate southern democrat, which is dang near a conservative. It was his extra curricular activities that upset people. Granted I was still young at the time, but thats my memory.

Hillary has always been a criminal. This doesnt change anything. Its her weird silence, the emergence of the Bern, and being stabbed in the back by Obama that are all cutting into her lead.

Still id be surprised if she isnt elected, and absolutely floored if she isnt the nominee.

I'm convinced that Obama doesn't want Hillary to be the nominee.

Totally agree.

Disagree regarding Obama not wanting Clinton in. She may not be his favorite Democrat, but he certainly wants a Democrat to win, and she has by far the best chance. If an R gets in, there's the risk some/much of what he's done will be undone.

Saw this in the WSJ, has a ring of truth:

"The Democratic Party for much of the past 75 years did political blocking and tackling, too—and won many elections. But since 2008, it has succumbed to the Great Man theory of politics, which siphons all political life into one charismatic person. That began to fall apart for the Democrats in the 2010 midterms. In a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll published this week, two-thirds say they now want a departure from the Obama presidency."

You're exactly right. People are tired of hearing the same old garbage from polticians. We have an illegal immigrant problem that our government doesn't want or have the stomach to resolve.

We're 15 months from the election, Trump will more than likely flame out by then.

Agree that Obama doesn't want a GOP president, and insists on a D. Just not Hillary.

MOST of the people who voted for Obama did so simply because he was black.

When I post with all caps, I usually have a source to back up my claims. Do you have a source for this? And if this is true, why isn't Ben Carson crushing the polls? Is it because the novelty is gone? But then that cuts against the "simply because he was black" argument. But let's go pre-BO. Jessie Jackson in the 1980s? Alan Keyes in 2000?

Obama received ~69m votes in 2008. Your theory is that > 34.5m people voted for him "simply because he was black." That's over 10% of the total US population (including children), and roughly 26% of all voters in 2008. That's a lot of people.

I don't think it's the anti-PC thing so much as the vague platitudes. I have a friend who shared a Trump thing saying "Let's make America great again" and was enthused that a candidate is saying stuff like that. What? That's about as informative, and unsurprising, as a dating profile saying "I like to have fun."

Hope and Change worked for Obama.

With regards to tonight, it will be interesting to see how Trump handles himself. If he's calm, insightful and Presidential, then he may be in this for the long term. If he turns this into a circus then he'll get all the attention, but people aren't going to vote for a clown.

Obama is clever, and this is already being done in a stealth way IMO.

Obama wants no part of Bill. He may think he is running "stealth", but he'll still get skewered. And Obama won't even know where it came from or who hit him.

No...Mr. Carson is a Republican and an outcast...you insert the wording...sits on the wrong side of the issues. Believes in personal responsibility and not victimization. I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

But if people are voting for the black candidate because he is black ("MOST of the people who voted for Obama did so simply because he was black"), that would apply to any black candidate (i.e. "simply because he was black"). So either your hypothesis is wrong or Ben Carson is not black.

Also, why would "sits on the wrong side of the issues" matter if people are voting "simply because he was black?" Beliefs/views/opinions/politics is simply irrelevant to > 34.5m people, no?

Agree. Much will be decided tonight. We'll see if hes serious about this or if its just some ego stunt thats yet to run its course.

If what you say is true then why is it that every time a black man or women on the right is nominated for something he/she is scorned by the naacp and the victimization crowd of the left as being a sellout. Are these folks not allowed to have different ideas...By the way isn't it great how all that liberal agenda has worked out for the black community?

84 votes yes and maybe votes to 87 no votes. I'm hoping the combo will one day pass the No's.

#MAKEAMERICAGREATAGAIN

I kinda wish I could watch the Kids Table debate but I'll still be at work. Would like to see whether any of them are really still fighting.

None of them are particularly intriguing, though.

All I'm doing is refuting your ridiculous statement "MOST of the people who voted for Obama did so simply because he was black." If that were true, those same people would be voting for a black politician regardless of political affiliation, issues, etc... You are dodging the issue by bringing in other issues that are not on point.

Address the issue. Is it true that "MOST of the people who voted for Obama did so simply because he was black?" Is Ben Carson black? Thanks.

Obama is clever, and this is already being done in a stealth way IMO.

It's hard to manipulate what people are seeing with their eyes.
Lotta truth to that. The bombshell news release of the home-brewed email system didn't come from a right wing conspiracy, or the tea party firebrand GOP House members, but the NY Times via (many thing) Valerie Jarrett.

Probably so.

And, some righties have a "tuff (sic) boy" problem.

It all depends on how you like your crazy.

EDIT: In fairness, I've lived in Kentucky my whole life. For every one lefty I've encountered, I've come across 25 righties. Therefore the conservative sample size is much larger, which gives them more opportunities to act like loons.

Honestly though, I wished somehow people could get past the left right bs and come to grip that both parties are
screwing we the people over.

I'd love for Sanders to get the nomination over Clinton.

I've yet to hear any Conservative wish death on BO (Not including internet trolls), despite the fact that they (and I) have heard plenty of Liberals hope Bush would get assassinated. To each his own I guess, but every few weeks of GW's last term I would hear someone wish ill upon him.
