It's a fringe benefit of a military position, just like a pension, healthcare, or vacation. Are you gonna argue that we should all have those benefits because people who work for the government get them?

What also gets me are those who tell you that you were never in the military and not a veteran because you're an idiot for disagreeing with them. Had that happen a couple times before, most recently here about a week and half ago in another thread. They're just fine giving benefits to non-citizens who have done nothing to earn them.
