Umm, I contributed monthly to the GI Bill, thank you. Moreover, I was unable to fully use the GI Bill because of the former 10-year limit.

I also took out small student loans back then before going on active duty. Guess who garnished my pay for 18 months during the mid-80s?

I paid $100 a month my first year in the Navy, I was bringing home $810 dollars after taxes a month that first year.

However, your dumbassedness notwithstanding, most bigger cities do offer good benefit programs for firefighters...including tuition reimbursement...including Louisville Metro (see below). Don’t quote me but I believe it is between $2000 - $3000 per year depending on the individual situation. Might be more than that in certain circumstances.

But the most ignorant point to his/her line of thought is from the starting point. If a benefit is important to you and being a firefighter doesn't offer that benefit then don't be a damn firefighter. Quit bitching that another job gets a benefit so therefore every job must get the same benefit. Get a job that offers the damn benefit you want.

There are numerous benefits I would like to have, but I chose a career that paid me well so I could buy whatever I felt I needed and will allow me to retire early. GD so sick of this constant liberal whining about getting free shit.

What's the argument here? Im not scrolling back. Free stuff for firefighters bc military gets it? Arent firefighters local employees not federal? I'm sure theres tons of funds in small towns through their tax payers to pay for it. So you want to raise federal and city tax now.
