Socialism and capitalism can and do co-exist. Again I point you to our neighbors to our north and the other nations most like ourselves who have all deemed that providing healthcare to their citizens is one of a basic human right. Not only do all of their citizens have access to healthcare, they are able to do it at about 25-40% less cost because they aren't paying billions to insurance companies that do zero to add to the level of care and only add to the cost of that care.

So we don't provide healthcare to persons who show up at public clinics & emergency rooms; i.e., we turn them away? I'm not aware that happens very often if at all. Please explain.

These other countries you refer to don't recognize US health research costs & refuse to pay the price that research costs in the drug buys or just go to generics we won't allow do to our great patent protections. So we get stuck for our innovations' costs.

And think of all that spending that stays in our local communities as wages & gets re-spent to further improve those local economies. I mean, just how is it bad to spend a lot on medical costs but it's good to spend a lot on goods & services in local stores vs. Wal-mart?
