I am pro immigration as I think you need to have some (obviously not the way of a wide open border) but why can't Americans be looked at first for those jobs? Wasn't a good couple days of some arguing back in forth on X among different factions of the winning team, some still arguing...only reason there was any arguing was Vivek wakes up the day after Christmas and decides it is a good time to go on a little rant about our culture.

Part of what he said was bizarre, the timing was bizarre, and he is too smart not to know that it would unnecessarily stir sh-t up with conservatives. Everyone was in a celebratory mood, it was unnecessary. His message was out of the blue, when I read it my first thought was 'Why?'. We are less than a month before Trump takes office...it's the holidays...what the f-ck are you doing Vivek? haha.

I still think it is a small matter that will blow over quickly if some on X will let it...Elon hasn't helped matters, he has deleted a couple of approving responses to posts that were really insulting of Americans. Everyone was happy until Vivek stirred sh-t up, now we got Musk calling some Republicans racist. I still like all parties involved, Trump maybe doesn't get elected without Elon. Still a big Elon fan, also agree with some of the conservatives arguing with Elon/Vivek on this particular issue.

Yeah, I can agree with that in part (I slightly softened my message). But since Vivek's post, the ones pouring by far the most gasoline on it have been the 'tech bros' on our team...conservatives are mostly just responding. Our team is fighting. And I admit I'm a little mad at Vivek cause he handed the left a gift. But his original message, while ill-advised, wasn't so bad to get us where we are.

It has been everyone, in anger making it worse. The left at present isn't causing or creating any of that division. I guess I viewed 'op' as more like unrelenting propaganda and tactics the left employed in the example you used...the whole George Floyd mess. So far they are just setting on the sidelines mostly and using Vivek's and Elon's own words. The reason I found Kirk's message kind of dumb was under his definition you could almost call every attempt to hurt your political opponents an 'op'. The George Floyd matter was lying, breathlessly turning a lifelong criminal into a saint, and unbelievably encouraging and instigating whole communities to steal, destroy, and set shit on fire. To me that is an 'op'.

Of course, the other side is going to try to amplify fights in the opposing team's ranks, that is politics.
