He was mayor of Burlington prior to his run in the house. Not sure before that without looking up. Regardless, he’s held political office for 50 years.

We don't seem to need as much imported intelligence as they try to suggest though, and the more you read about H1B visas the less you think we need most of them here.

I am pro immigration as I think you need to have some (obviously not the way of a wide open border) but why can't Americans be looked at first for those jobs? Who was doing the jobs before immigrants were? Seems like a middle finger to Americans. I like Vivek as he is a very smart guy but he is wrong on this one!
What I like about sanders is that he challenged the status quo. And you cannot say he’s mainstream when the dems have not once implemented one of his talking points. I feel like that’s been my point when discussing him. Trump also challenged the status quo. Lots of republicans initially didn’t like Trump either, but for various reasons, many have gotten on board.
I think the democrats need someone that is equally as populist as Trump is to separate the old heads to a direction that resonates with most liberal parties in Europe.

Its an enormous cost to bring these people here. Its offset to an extent by what they pay out of pocket. Either way, no one is paying for people they dont need.
Now one thing that might skew things is the outsourcing. That needs a full stop. Thats paying people WAY less to do the same job because they're sitting someone else.
Thats a critical bifurcation. Stop the outsourcing. Make it easier to import actually talented humans.

I’m not saying that Sanders is my guy. I do like universal healthcare (analysts show that Americans would save 2k switching to UHC) and Universal income (especially with the rise in AI). I’m not sure if I agree with any of his other policies, however.
I think these two policies certainly place Americans first. And more importantly the most vulnerable Americans.

I think Trump is very concerned about his legacy, especially his last namesake. So I do think he’s going to try to make people’s lives better. We’ll just see if he can maintain his attention long enough in any direction.
Is a real head scratcher... I try/ tried once or twice but after a couple attempts at civility and humanity I take no prisoners and do NOT waste my time. If enough do that they will show up with another username which is so very funny as they try spending/ forcing themselves in places where they are not wanted (I guess it works as some/ several posters still engage and heartily.) 1) Oil, gas and coal companies won’t be paying this at all. It will be challenged in court immediately.
2) Hochul is freaking insane. New York is being destroyed by businesses leaving, and this is just going to expedite those departures. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Public service (not that people like Hochul think she’s a public servant) really isn’t attracting our brightest at all.
