I did respond. I responded to you and someone that lives in Louisville.

I work at a middle school and on Tuesdays and Thursdays help out in the math room get kids caught up on homework or help with learning targets. I also have a board games club that I do once a month.
Didn’t see your response. If true, then good for you & more importantly good for them.

Donating money to a good cause is great but donating time is much more effective.

I used to coach basketball and track, but my wife gave birth 4 years ago and my time has come a lot more precious. She's pregnant with baby number two and we have a c section set from 12/31.

Politicians are the worst human beings in the world. They don't bat an eye at their own citizens being killed. I'm supposed to believe they just have such a giant heart for Ukraine when they didn't even give a shit about people from North Carolina?

These people have no issue with our food being poison cause they take money.
These people have no issue with sickness cause they take money from Big Pharma.
These people have no issue with fentanyl and heroine coming into this country.

But they care about Ukraine for no reason other than they just have giant hearts.

Well said

Someone asked me about that in 2012. He asked why things were getting so heated and i responded that, for many issues, there is no more room for compromise. It either is or isn't at this point (either the border is secure, or it isn't ... either little Timmy is Tammy or he isn't). And when you push people like that, esp when these things worked for hundreds of years, expect pushback.

Ya think...

Never was issues UNTIL, the differences were found to be an opportunity to inject communism into America. Yeah, communism. Those who'd turn America into a communist nation and there are many, found they could start inject personal rights and freedoms into a wedge to where those "few" and they were few decided they'd "make" people accept them. (They were paid and funded to do just that. I can show you the money...) It was no longer enough to be able to do what you want to do, the communists used the stupidity of the few to "brain-wash" them into thinking there were many many like "them".

Now you have copycats who are not really trans, gay, or whatever but they like to test and see what they can actually get away with. Just a challenge to them. Those types quit being challenged at work for so many reasons. (The Welfare state now.) (Many closet people now have TOO much time on their hands..) For many of those band-wagon types it really is that simple. Those types need to just go to work.

Would anybody with half a brain be surprised if this is true? How else can you explain the huge net worth of many of those in Congress? And, look, it's not just Dems or Pubs, it's both. The Swamp is a nice term for DC, imo.

It is the correct term. I work there... Just swamp-dwellers...

No offense, but you kinda just proved my point. On most issues, I'm conservative but not on ALL issues and certainly not reactionary right on all issues. And that is the problem. There is no middle ground for many people anymore. You're either 100% in agreement with me or you're my enemy (depending on the individual's viewpoint that means you're a fascist or a RINO). That ensures that 50% of the American people will be the 'enemy' for the party/philosophy in power. That's a horrible way to govern. Yes, the Dems have been more guilty of 'my way or the highway' thinking than the Pubs in my opinion. But, there is a small (hopefully) percentage of Far Right thinkers that are just as dangerous as the Far Left. Governing for either extreme is bad for the country. Yes, we've started down a bad road with open borders, out of control spending, identity politics, normalizing mental illness and sexual perversion, etc. But 'the sky is falling unless we eradicate these apostates' is not any better, imo.

There is right and wrong and a little bit of gray, NOT a whole lot of gray and a little right or a little wrong. The latter is farcical! Anymore than that, Houston, we have a problem...

If trump does what a lot of you want like dismantling the fbi the country will implode
ha ha ha ha ha ha...

The FBI is nothing but a criminal gang. And they are redundant. The "country will implode?" LOL hyperbole much? Next you're gonna tell me Trump is a "threat to democrathy?!"

As far as tariffs, please tell me how the US Government got its revenue before 1913.

I did read what you wrote. This latest sounds like you're on the verge of becoming unhinged. 'No room for compromise'? Really? You think you and your political compatriots have ALL the right answers to every single issue and every issue is either black or white? Then, in my opinion, you're as bad as the worst Left Winger who thinks EXACTLY the same way but just takes the opposite side of every issue. You and I most likely agree on a lot of issues but I'm not arrogant enough to assume I have all the right answers and there are no gray areas and there is no room for compromise. That's dangerous thinking. The Constitution itself is the product of a lot of compromise between very smart individuals.

I'm done.
LOL you say you're not arrogant and don't think you have all the right answers, but you call me unhinged.

Hypocrite much? What if you're wrong about me? What makes you so sure you're right?

All you're doing is attacking me for thinking I'm right, instead of engaging in a discussion of ideas.

Go away. You're terrible at this and you're clearly not cut out for this thread.

The problem with compromise is that it leaves everyone dissatisfied. I think for us to get back to being able to coexist, both sides are going to have to relent on certain policies, but which ones? I'm just not sure if large groups can wholly get on board with this again, especially when we have politicians (on both sides) that promise the world.
You would think that a lot of the issues we raise would be common sense for either side, yet the left has become so jaded, they literally go out of their way to take or create an opposing stance to literally anything a Republican proposes. It’s absurd at this point.

The GOP is the best at compromising. The left just takes a little more and a little more freedom away each time the GOP compromises. I'm through compromising on my freedoms! And if someone thinks THAT is unhinged, they can go frak themselves.

Democrats tend to overemphasize marginalized groups. I think most are well intended, but come across as smug. I think we should always place emphasis on kids and special needs individuals. Anything else can really wait until they are taken care of.

The irony in this is almost painful.

It makes no sense that there's not a universal method for this considering it affects all of us. No way should elections for congress and the presidency have states with no boundaries at all. California being allowed a month is insane.
Federalizing elections is just what the Libs want. Whatever Pubs put in today, they'll change to what they desire at first chance - no ID, same day registration, mail in whenever, etc. So a big fat no to that for me.

If you really want to do some good, have only citizen numbers in the Census count towards awarding congress seats. Pubs would probably have 10-15 more House seats right now. The current system is a big reason Libs want open borders with all the illegals in CA/NY/IL giving them extra House seats. Pubs changing that now would most likely not be reversible for 2030 Census.

This is much more reasonable. Except hunter. Give him an unconditional pardon and end lawfare. Put that in the rear view. If he commits some other crime and ends up in the clink then whatever. Trump doesn’t need to keep tabs on this guys life.
He kinda does. He was making a lot of those back door deals with foreign nations while Trump was President.

How many “former names” have you had?
Just 1 and posted mostly on RR and a little on KyPreps. My twitter account was made in april of 09 and that became my source of UK news. Still came to the paddock from time to time and read gyero, but even then took a long hiatus. Started reading gyero again to learn about inner workings going on in BB and FB program. This reading really ticked up when Pope was hired. Eventually started reading this thread. Would have started posting even sooner, but I thought I had to pay for account and then I had a lengthy period where it would say that I did not have permission to post or respond.

I don't believe those numbers for a minute. There's no reason to.
Even if the numbers are false, there is absolutely reason to believe it. Or, to question it, at the very least. Ukraine couldn’t account for $6B of the money we sent last year, or, in 2023. Yet, we continue to approve billions more. It would seem prudent to cut off a country that is so loose with billions of our dollars. Especially, in a shady place like Ukraine.

Not to mention the poor state of our economy. But, that $6B wasn’t even a blip on the radar. There’s a reason that our government isn’t overly concerned about it & keep bending over backwards to pour billions more into one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, for a war that we have no business being involved in. It doesn’t add up, IMO.

I think that the rise of AI coupled with the mass deportations in the near future is going to be really fascinating. I do think AI is going to really maximize the efficacy in everything that we do. This rapid automation will force us to rethink unemployment. There's going to be a lot of people that simply will not need a job because of AI... That or we just lower retirement age and have more years to enjoy in our twilight.

If the money is going to those or any members of Congress, Pam Bondi should be investigating & prosecuting them day one. When she doesn't, you'll know for sure it's lies. Or do you think Trump & Bondi are corrupt too?
