He came very close to winning several counties on the Texas-Mexican border, in 2020, which are about 95% or more Hispanic, and might have increased his popularity with that voting base since then. I wouldn't bet on 48% to 46% for Trump, but it's not totally out of the question. It's definitely a concern, for the Democrats both in the long term and short term, that Hispanics are eventually going to start voting 50/50 at best for Democrats in future elections.
