The Constitution didn’t protect the freedom of slaves either. Until we changed it to do so. Now you’re the one now conflating two different things, we were talking about our foundational ideals and how best to carry those ideals into the future. Specifically a discussion of “all men are created equal” in the Declaration, not any technical legalities in the Constitution. What freedom means.

Lol dumb

Wrong again. You call me old & can't remember what Trump did do to this country that killed us ever since. Pre-dates Jan. 6..

Rubbish. You have stated many times after Jan 6, you were done with Trump. Straw, camel back, etc .

The Constitution doesn’t protect you from being poor or from your parents authority over you. Both of those are absurd when it comes to which system of government better protects liberty.

????????????????????????????????????????????? No, they were not. Those were at the master's behest. When you're to the point you're arguing literal slaves are free it's probably time to get off the internet for the day. Coaching search got you shook.

Slight point of reference here.

Karl, what was the inflation adjusted price of a slave in today's dollars?

Don't avoid the question, Mr. Wikipedia.

So, you're saying no government in the history of the world ever owned slaves, as opposed to private ownership?

Literally, what you just typed.

Just give up, RCB.
You know you've already lost when you have to resort to this type of bad faith gamesmanship.

Your examples have nothing to do with liberty. The ability to afford something you want has nothing do with whether or not you are a free person. In your example, Fiji, lobster, etc., are all finite resources. Price is the most efficient way to allocate those resources. Everyone still can't live on the beach in Fiji, irrespective of the economic system. In your world, the government would allocate those finite resources. So who would live on the beach and eat lobster, the bureaucrats that run the system, or the people who do their bidding. Either way, finite resources have to be allocated. One method is efficient and driven by market forces. The other is inefficient and driven by individuals who hand them out as favors or take them for their own.
He will never get it. Even if he did get it, he would NEVER admit it and acknowledge that you are correct.

You're playing chess with a pigeon brain.

we don't have to imagine. We have several of these scum on here.

Well, I can’t imagine Joe Craft allowing this to happen. I just can’t.

fire Barnhart. Cal needed to go but Mitch should’ve had a plan before letting him to walk. Ridiculous management.

Yes. Cal was not fired. He walked and Barnhart had no plan.
Barnhart had a plan, he probably had that “plan” for years, but that “plans” roots grew deeper and deeper where he is and ultimately faith and family foiled that “plan” for Drew.

This sure doesn't sound like a no.

Only thing that sucks about Billy is we could potentially have to wait weeks (assuming his bulls win the play in game) before hiring him and possibly lose out on a lot of good transfers from the portal. But even then...I'd rather Mitch find a way to hire him over Pope even though the waiting game with Billy would suck.

No sir. You're on the record, and since you like to play legal scholar, words matter.
No I'm not. Nowhere in what I said does it say what you got out of it. And you fully admit you're intentionally obfuscating, so no reason to waste any more of all of our time.

One thing I will like about Pope (besides he obviously played at UK) is the basketball program will put Kentucky first...unlike what Cal was doing. He will be coming here to hopefully win championships and not win draft night.
Totally agree. Not expecting much next season. Beating Ark and usual rivals would be nice.

They are really melting down over on HOB and Rafters. Wow!

Doing what I can to convince myself Pope will work out.

Hoping he still has relationships with a lot of the guys he played with. As much as I loved having AD, Wall, etc., their jerseys aren’t still in storage at my parents house like McCarty and Delk. Those years were UK basketball. Shit, at this point, bring Pitino back as the “GM” or something.

Make UK Basketball Great Again.

Rafters in full meltdown mode……

Listen, my high school coach 25 years ago would coach circles around Cal if you gave them even players. Pope has my full support. I bet he will employ the novel idea of starting his best players (probably doesn't like to start most games down 9-3). He probably won't play favorites with his players.

Pope will respect the fans, the tradition, and the program. We won't lose our entire team every year, with mysterious transfers and guys going pro who will never make it in the league.

Guess what, if Pope fails we will be able to easily afford to get rid of him. Cal's contract was an albatross around the program's neck. Anybody going nuts on Rupp Rafters (I don't go to that place) should shut the f-ck up. We have endured recently a 9 win season (the worst I think in over a 100 years), a loss to St. Peter's with the national player of the year, and Cal couldn't even beat Oakland with guards like Reed, Dillingham, and Reeves. Pope will be better than the waddling Cal of the last several years.

Cal lost his staff years ago and it was pretty clear they were the ones doing the coaching. I despise him, he will run his mouth in the next few years and I hope they never put his name in the rafters. His wife seems like a complete class act though. She must be a saint to deal with Cal, and trying feed him must be tough haha.

It was an awkward time to try to hire someone and Cal was always going to leave us in bad shape cause his whole team left every year and he didn't care about the future of the program.

Let the Mark Pope era begin!
