Not asking to shut it down. Just asking them to take it out of the COMMUNIST CHINESE hands. What kids in China see is night and and day vs the trash and brain washing for US kids. Saw something today that 39% of TT users would rather lose their voting rights than lose access to TT. Now that is some kind of brainwashing
I have no Tik Toc, no Facebook, but I do sometimes browse. on my wife's Facebook, no Twitter, or Twatter. My only source of social interaction is hacking around the keyboard with you un-blocked knuckleheads, which I very much enjoy. I also own and participate in texting on my cell. Other than that, I live a very boring but fun life. With that, I would not want the government having more control over free speech and so on. Jus my 2 cents...Oh....almost forgot, I do have internet..

I know some of you guys are "principled conservatives", but wtf is wrong with you defending TikTok? Are you all f'ing lunatics?
- China doesn't allow our social media (so no market for our companies)
- The government gains access to our data, trends, desires, needs
- They also tweak algorithms to sow discord in our country.
We all wish you didn't have internet.
China is so embedded here that banning tiktok won't accomplish anything. 8 years ago it might have mattered but China has subsidiaries in every tech co. Most experts say that China gets way more personal data from Americans from US tech co's than they do from their own spy ware.
That's my fear. Patriot act has hurt Americans more than it helped. We were promised it was temporary just to make sure we were safe after a huge terrorist attack... now we find out they are spying on us using illegal means to go after Americans.
I could see them using this to ban tiktok then ban X/twitter and then Truth and the Rumble. Go to federal court and appeals.... good luck getting back open before the election.
I would say Rand is worried about the slippery slope that we are constantly told doesn't exist but then we end up sliding closer to a totalitarian state. LOL.
I’m not defending tik tok, I just don’t trust our government any more than I trust the CCP at this point.
Banning tiktok will open the door to banning any platform that doesn’t comply with US uniparty censorship demands.
And at this point, the US government is locking up far more US citizens for political purposes than China is. When China starts locking up US citizens for political reasons I’ll care more about them spying on US citizens in the same way our government does.
I guess I see most social media companies as evil state actors at this point. TikTok is just the focus because it’s not the US government violating everyone’s privacy and manipulating content this time.

I could get on board with a social media bill of rights that prohibits large corporate actors from collecting data, and eliminating the liability protections these large tech companies hide behind, but banning one company and giving this corrupt administration more power is stupid. And it’s not a step in the right direction, it never is in Washington.
TikTok is a trash app but let’s be real here. You have no privacy anymore. If you think the government does not already have access to everything you say and do think again. Your phone, Alexa and any other device with a camera and or microphone can easily be “hacked” by the government, Apple and many other entities. The CCP is a real problem but our government is not far behind them.

LOL. I remember when he first won people were complaining that inflation went up to 130%... They didn't want to admit the spending was why inflation was bad. It took a few months to work it's way out of the system and eventually they will stabilize if they stay the course. If spending way more money than you take in was good for an economy then everyone would do it and prosper.

China is the least of their worries. They use that to gaslight. They want it in the hands of someone they can control. They don't like a platform that allows for open communication between American citizens that they can't censor, ban or manipulate the algorithms of. They want control of all media and what people see and hear.
You know Soros just bought Audacy right? the second largest conglomerate of media outlets, podcasts, and radio stations in the country. They want to own the narrative, they want all media to be state controlled like the fascist commies they are.
I have no facebook, Instachat, Snaptagram, whatever else. I don't post on X but read things that come up on it. I do admit to scrolling TikTok a couple times a week, and my feed on there is largely conservative based for any political content that comes up outside of the food or beverage reviews, funny animal videos, funny baby videos, comedians or travel destination videos. Mine and my Good Lady Wifes feeds are very similar actually. Though she buys shit off Temu, I refuse to do that. Point being, A lot of what tends to come up politically in my feed would be censored or removed from most other platforms. my wife has gotten facebook warnings for some very innocuous things she's posted in the past, so she stopped posting anything remotely political on there anymore and just uses it to communicate with family and friends.
if you own a cell phone, your data's been breached. your data is already in anyone's hands who wants to manipulate what you see and read. Banning TikTok is just a blip on the radar of data collection. People need to understand the ban or forced selling is about CONTENT manipulation not data collection.

I watch Jesse Watters most every night. Last night he had a segment showing Epstein Kimmel playing with a Trump doll if he went to prison.
