It’s not just about the money or even the data for China. It’s about its effectiveness in contributing to the moral decay and dumbing down of our society.

Our government is so worried about China spying on us that they:
-Let Chinese spy balloons slowly float across America.
-Let record numbers of Chinese nationals freely cross our border.
-Ignore that Eric Swalwell dated a Chinese spy.
-Ignore that Dianne Feinstein employed a Chinese spy for 20 years.
- Allowed Chinese nationals/companies to buy up farmland near sensitive military sites
-Do nothing about Hunter and the 'big guy' having multi-million dollar deals with a CCP connected energy company.
Generally for getting rid of Tik-Tok - garbage surveillance app. Just pointing out the hypocrisy and selective outrage.

The only reasons the govt is pretending to go after TT is either to extort money from them, for show, or because China isn't sharing the data as agreed. We shouldn't be naive about this. The govt WANTS TT to be available to skew minds and narratives, as well as to rail against. It's one of the boogeymen they need to distract us right now.
The govt controls the harm. That's the only difference. China is an enemy that wants us to confiscate guns 10 years ago and call in the debt. The govt wants to milk the dying cow for all it's possibly worth along the way, delaying the end as long as possible.

5. Even some D lawmakers are pushing back - one said 'to avoid rolling blackouts', which I took to mean that they are already seeing rolling blackouts, which means the grid is already unreliable
6. Which gov't agency will verify a CA resident's income? Another ploy to know everything about their residents for future use against them?
7. Obviously, renewable green energy is NOT cheaper to produce than electricity from fossil fuels and nuclear

Tik tok is obviously spyware but China has obvious spy sites around our military bases and are obviously bringing in fentanyl across the border and obviously stealing intellectual property and obviously bribing US politicians... why just focus on the one thing and add the caveat that the president can decide who is a foreign owned site?

Tik Tok pushes all the issues that dems say they support.. gay, trans, blm... every weird thing and anti US common values... and then dems voted to ban the app... I'm calling BS. One thing I forgot to mention - CA has a 'no new ICE purchase' law that takes effect around 2032 or 2035. So, force residents to purchase expensive EVs, further degrade and put pressure on an unreliable electric grid by adding milions of batteries charging and charge MORE to recharge your EV battery.
