The right call is not telling them beforehand that we aren't going to use our military. We need to be sending them all the military assistance they can buy, and cut deals for further equipment.

You're right I imagine, but China is following a long term plan to overtake the entire region. We can't just sit back and use a "prevent defense" or we most definitely will end up on the short end. We must make China step out of their long term plan of slowly swallowing what they want.
