You don't even know why the 3/5 law was put in place do you? LOL.
Representation/taxation in the soon to be USA.
The South wanted their slave population to be counted while the North thought only free men should be counted because counting slaves would mean the South would be over-represented in the House.
The compromise became 3 free men to 5 slaves, i.e. the 3/5 compromise.

But doing that DOES NOT HELP anyone. It makes people take sides by race. And as we have seen, that always leads to conflict.
And one last note... DEI programs with the language you are pushing have been heavily taught in schools, businesses and governments - really picking up over the last 20 years. Did you know that blacks and whites both felt pretty good about race relations in this country 20 years ago? Look at it now. Tell me what changed.

That's saying if you're not free you're 3/5s of a free person.
Whole number of free persons equals 1
Three fifths of all other persons means those who aren't free nor are Indians.

Plus in my original post I listed much more than just the 3/5s compromise but you happen to just block that out.
Nothing in the original post was "racist fiction" it was a list of things that affected people in our country and my point was all history should be taught, the good and bad. I don't see how that's racist.
I mean just how you interpreted what's in the constitution is a sign it should be taught.

Net, all the slaves were fully counted as persons, but Representatives were apportioned for 3/5's of that whole number of people. That's not saying they weren't full people anymore than it says Indians weren't full people.

Poor white and black people had entirely different legal rights.
And for taxation as well as representation as you point out. For legal purposes they’re worth 3/5. It’s codified. You’re trying to play semantics by saying that somehow doesn’t make them less of a person. What, philosophically? Pointless. Legally, it does.

Why would the first WASP Americans, fleeing oppression in Europe, enslave themselves? Why would they enslave other whites, which requires conquest, when they could just buy Africans from other Africans?
All people were enslaved at some point or another, and it's not like whites weren't slaves elsewhere after America had its emancipation proclamation.
The actual reality is this, the black American won the lottery. Of the some 10 million slaves that came to the Americas, liek 300k ended up in the United States of America. Their descendants are the wealthiest, most prosperous black people on the planet, an integral and invaluable constituent/contributor to this nation's greatness.

And taking this a step further, check out racism and the plight of blacks in Europe (you know, that bastion of liberal enlightenment)... in fact, talk to some blacks who have spent time there... they paint a VERY different picture than what we're led to believe...
You’re either ignorant or just straight lying. America specifically developed our hereditary chattel slavery based on race. There have been many legal versions of slavery over the centuries and almost none of them were as brutal, barbarous, and long-lasting as the racial system we came up with.
