There are indeed moderate political leaders in Iran, in fact I would agree that a significant portion of the Iranian populace is nowhere near as radically religious and anti-American as their leadership is.
From one of your replies on this topic: “Empowering the moderate secular factions is the only way to affect real change in Iran.” I agree with this 100%, but the problem is that all political candidates (and even parties) are ultimately subject to the approval of the clerics who are the real power in the country. A HUGE opportunity to change the trajectory of history was missed when the Iranian people rose up in protest again their leadership during the Obama administration, and he did nothing as the Iranian leadership cracked down hard on the people. To be fair, virtually all of the Western did nothing either.
Trump was completely in the right to void a terrible deal negotiated by an incompetent Obama administration. The JPCA did nothing but kick the can down for a few years. Now Biden is allowing himself to get rolled into an even worse deal, and he’s trying to pretend it’s merely a continuation of the previous deal. There’s no need for a new deal because we had contained Iran with re-instated sanctions.

I mean really, how these buncha dions actually have the temerity to believe they're the ones, that they're capable of actually fixing anything has to be up there in the most ignorant moments in human history.
Also the deal gave Iran the ability to bar inspectors from the USA and also have veto power over some other inspectors. So in other words, they have some choice in who carried out the investigation and could overrule the findings.
The only place that had it better was North Carolina who got to carry out an in house investigation… they found no wrong doing 🙄

Bernie is closer to Putin and communism in ideology than democratic capitalism. That's why the majority of moderate Dems gave Biden the nomination over him. I believe he is sincere in his beliefs but I'm definitely not a Bernie fan.

As I said in the post, we’ve stuck our nose into their business many times over the years. We’re as much to blame for the current hardline administration as they are. But it’s easier to just hate them than try to understand why they’re fond of such bellicose rhetoric.
