Listen, I get you want to defend teachers at all costs, and I worked with teachers for over a decade. Most of them were good people and good teachers… but the BS the heads of these organizations are pushing is insane.

My point was that you tried to show there was some measure of enforcement in some instances with the BLM/Antifa protestors, and I'm making the point that those measures paled in comparison to what is happening to the Truckers. the majority of those you linked were likely let out of jail within a very short period of time and not charged with anything or noting more than a misdemeanor.

My point was that there are many on the right who were cheering on the blocking of roads/bridges two weeks ago before the specific overreaches you mentioned. They were saying it was great to do that but two years ago blocking bridges/roads was terrible and should result in arrests. It's the hypocrisy for me.
I think you and I can both agree that some of the current measures the Canadian government is taking are definitely government overreach.

Maybe you didn't see it on the local or national news where you live?? The government did nothing in some places but made plenty of arrests in other places. BLM would have never gotten off as easy in the U.S. for blocking roads/bridges for weeks as those mother truckers in Canada have. Government did plenty to make sure blocking free travel and workers didn't become a way of life here like it has in Canada.

I can't and won't defend teaching pre k kids about sh** like you mentioned. I have no idea where that is going on but I bet it isn't in Kentucky or 99.9 percent of the schools across America. Using one insane example to paint the entire education system as crazed is ridiculous.
It is not the numbers or 2+2 that the racial bias graphic is about. It has to do with asking yourself how hard you push the students in your class to achieve. It has to do with the types of examples you use in your word problems that some kids relate to better than others. It has to do with the types of projects and hands on activities you use. There is nothing wrong with trying to reach every kid in your room and get the most out of them. Self reflection and striving to be the best teacher you can be for ALL your students is a good thing....not a thing to be vilified.

From the 2 of your links I clicked on so far, it seems most were arrested once they assaulted or threw bottles at police officers. To my knowledge the Canadian protests have been not just mostly, but 99.9% peaceful. The police are the ones providing the violence.

Also, I don’t see anyone inside the Canadian government voicing support for the truckers and offering to bail them out. The BLM protesters KNEW they’d be out on the streets and have their chargers dismissed. Canadians and their supporters are having their bank accounts froze.

And the problem with these approaches is they don’t compensate for kids who do not care, or have parents who do not care. It’s the exact opposite of getting the most out of kids, they get the least because teachers are forced to hold up the kids excelling… and please don’t tell me that isn’t happening because I’ve seen it first hand.

There is a reason for that and is not an isolated incident among many teachers in this current political environment. It is no longer a job I would recommend to anyone. Makes me sad to say.

We’re saying similar things. Communism is a theoretical economic state that would require many, many technological advances to arrive at. It isn't practical or applicable in today’s world. Those who have “tried” have usually had ulterior motives. For these reasons we’ve never had or come close to a communist system. So y’all need to stop blaming communism for all the world’s ills. The local school is just stuck trying to carry out all of the mandates, laws, regs and BS that rains down on them from above. The average local school in Kentucky is stuck in the middle of a sh"" sandwich between the dept of ed/state politicians/parents and the local school board.
I'm not saying schools shouldn't have some accountability.....but when you spend more time documenting what you are doing every day to prove you are accountable than you spend actually teaching....it is out of control.

I agree. I enjoy the debate even if we don't always agree. I do try to at least not be too much of an azzhole about it. I think we do agree on some things sometimes.

99 percent of the BS comes from the state dept of Ed and the Ky Legislature. The local school is just stuck trying to carry out all of the mandates, laws, regs and BS that rains down on them from above. The average local school in Kentucky is stuck in the middle of a sh"" sandwich between the dept of ed/state politicians/parents and the local school board.
I'm not saying schools shouldn't have some accountability.....but when you spend more time documenting what you are doing every day to prove you are accountable than you spend actually teaching....it is out of control.
