Hopefully not. But, let’s go back to my post and see the relevance of your response (look down). But, I understand that when you get it wrong, admitting is not something you can do.What about the poor rural areas that are poorly funded, like Appalachia Kentucky, for example? Is that area overrun by liberal leadership too then?
In Louisville, property taxes form the financial base for public schools, but individual schools are not financially tied to the property tax revenue from their geographic area. I suspect that is true for all major metropolitan school districts. So, how does the tax revenue process punish poor kids?
Some of it is taxes and some united way. Where does united way get it’s money? It’s coming from the citizens. Split hairs if you want. Still paying healthy people that can get jobs if they want.No we aren't. As the article said United Way and Mayors For A Guaranteed Income are paying for it, not the city. Which was the point of contention.
Lived on 26h and Slevin in the Portland neighborhood until the 8th grade. Then we moved to 43rd and Main in the Shawnee neighborhood. Great neighborhood! Walked all over at all hours.Grew up on Kentucky St.
The entire conservative argument is that social programs/spending should be done through private charity rather than government taxpayer spending and now you're complaining about private donations? So no one should help the poor ever in any way? WTF? You better not claim to be a Christian...Some of it is taxes and some united way. Where does united way get it’s money? What part of the city IS paying part of it don’t you understand? And if you think this isn’t just the first step, you’re dumber than I thought. And that’s damn near impossible. The entire conservative argument is that social programs/spending should be done through private charity rather than government taxpayer spending and now you're complaining about private donations? They should be. But that wasn't what we were talking about.
We ARE talking about how to spend our tax dollars. Soooooo
Guys, my original plan to just give everyone an annual $200,000 salary is far superior to what Louisville is doing. My plan really moves the needle and will instantly get everyone out of poverty. No we aren't. As the article said United Way and Mayors For A Guaranteed Income are paying for it, not the city. Which was the point of contention.
My cousin purchased an old row house dirt cheap in Portland back during late-80s. Can't remember which street. He began renovations, but was forced to sell because his old lady divorced him. From what I gather, that part of town worsened during those days, but later heard things improved.Lived on 26h and Slevin in the Portland neighborhood until the 8th grade. Then we moved to 43rd and Main in the Shawnee neighborhood. Great neighborhood! Walked all over at all hours.
Lmao. Trump "tactically withdraws" from Portland and now things are back to their normal nightly protests instead of the complete chaos he created. What a successful operation!

That’s not what the linked Courier Journal article said.Iirc United way is only administering the program. The money is coming from the city.
wearing a mask is bad for your health? LMAO! you are damn hilarious. Yea something that filters out bad shit from the air will slowly kill you. A+++++ logic there!

I think we now know where all of the anonymously sourced news articles came from now.
You got it backwards, the linked CJ article said United Way and Mayors For A Guaranteed Income are putting up the money and the city is administering the program.Thanks. I definitely remember they are only administering the program. Where is the money coming from?
That woman is a WEF wolf in sheep's clothing. You have been warned.
This is BS ...if they have a HS diploma they can go to GE get $3K bonus making 40K a year. MY Austin grandson is doing this. Get off your dead beat asses!!I gotta get out of this city!

$500 a month and no strings attached. Louisville launches guaranteed income program
Louisville joins a wave of cities launching guaranteed income programs, a concept meant to lift people out of poverty through monthly cash payments.www.courier-journal.com

I think the sarcasm may not have come through in my post lolDon't worry about the millionaires and billionaires bro; they'll be fine.
Giving everyone 200k will eliminate the wage gap and right the wrongs of white supremacy. It's equity, my bro. It's literally making everyone equal, as we should be in democracy. It's your patriotic duty and it's what the founding fathers would've wanted.
If you need any links from CNN or NYT, I'll be happy to google them for you. It's ok bro, you might learn something. You'll grow. The science is evolving - your backward beliefs are getting left behind. Money doesn't have to be earned since it can just be taken from the rich. We're the richest country in the world, no reason we have to keep working.
Poor counties have to fund public education (state assistance does help) and that can cause a discrepancy between the poor counties and wealthy counties. All of the kids in the poor county, however, who attend the public school get the same education.I am not wading into this debate, but I will ask someone to clarify. I thought most of the tax revenue for local schools was raised in the county.
For example, I have a client in McCreary County, which he tells me is the poorest county in Kentucky, a lot of it is Daniel Boone Forest I think. I can't imagine their tax base (or Martin County, or a lot of other small poor counties) can support a school system to anywhere near the level we do here in Fayette County, where every new HS and middle school seemingly is the next Taj Mahal.
Is this correct, spending per student in poor counties is definitely less than in the wealthy counties (at least in Kentucky, I have no idea how other states fund their public schools)?
A few of us have felt that way for a while now.
that's probably why it was always "anonymous staffer"All the so-called leaks. Yep....they were in the WH....but not all from the staff if at all.
They may get the same general lesson plans in poor counties, but poorer counties tend to get lower quality teachers as well as less and lower quality resources.Poor counties have to fund public education (state assistance does help) and that can cause a discrepancy between the poor counties and wealthy counties. The point I made was about metropolitan areas and the fact that poor areas in the city are not punished. NBAcats, by responding to a similar post about Lexington, said that was wrong. The poor are not “punished.” That does not mean that in poor counties there does not need to be a funding revenue source for all of the kids in that county.
Do you live in Louisville? Just go to their Twitter page (JCPS). They had after school clubs watching the Colin Kaepernick documentary. They have gay and BLM flags in classrooms. The school board only cares about equity, which means making everybody equally stupid.I agree there should be checks and balances. I mean that should go for a lot of things. However letting it be a 60/40 split in favor of parents who more than likely do not have the proper knowledge or training to determine curriculum seems like a disaster.
It has nothing to do with making their constituency rich. Public education funding is the largest pot of money that Republicans haven’t been able to privatize for profit. Arguably the most powerful Republican backing lobbying group in most state legislatures, state chambers of commerce, have legislative initiatives around privatizing public education dollars every single year. And the conservative American Legislative Exchange Council has a pool of pre written legislative items for red state legislatures to draw from, many of which involve dismantling public education and its funding. So, to answer your question, privatizing schools has nothing to do with helping you but with following directives from conservative think tanks to send those dollars to for-profit groups. Can you explain how the average Republican voter like me can get rich from privatizing schools?
