Official Steph Curry is GOAT thread

Steph wins MVP of All-star game, although, it was a complete joke. It was setup for Steph to win MVP (they played the Rising Stars in the first round), as the hometown star. He was not the leading scorer in either game, played every second, and scored 20 points on 17 shots (Tatum had 21 points on only 11 shots).

Story of his career a volume shooter benefitting from all star personnel surrounding him.

The all star game again was a joke if not for 3 point and dunk it’s basically forgettable.
LeBron ducked out at last minute along with Ant.

The only way the all-star ever becomes worth watching again is for the players to give a crap, all of them. But, after this mind-numbing garbage of this last one, it may never get back to the Kobe/MJ/Bird/Magic type of ASG.

Lebron dropping out because of his sore foot and 3 days after he's playing 36 and 33mins in a back-to-back with the 2nd game being on the road. At least drop out to give another player time to fill the spot. No, instead he's gonna parade himself out there in street clothes.

Basketball is in a bad spot. For the first time maybe in all of pro sports (not including strike years), I think the NBA might have to lower it's salary caps and player contract ceilings because I just don't see any way that the TV deals go for more money next go around.

And I think Hockey's 4-nation tournament might prove to be an extremely pivotal event in the trajectory of both sports. It made the NBA and it's players look absolutely pathetic. Hockey is always going to be sort of a niche sports because the cost of equipment and the need for rink time (compared to basketball just needing a ball and a park).. but I really think it's ratings are going to go up and the NBA is going to continue to sink until they do something about the player work ethic. It's absolutely embarrassing to see NBA players not be able to play b2bs while hockey players are picking their teeth up off the ice and getting back out there.

Also once LeBron retires who is the face of the league?
No one even wants to be.
It was Jordan - Kobe - LeBron and for the first time it’s TBD.

They asked Anthony Edwards and he was basically like "Na, I'm good" lolol.

Yep, there's no huge marketable stars, although I think Wemby could be one. And Tatum might be if Boston were to go back-to-back. But the product on the floor is not good. And I don't really see an easy fix.
