The main chow hall connected to the airman dorms across the street from building C was excellent during my time. I also ate at the smaller flightline chow hall and it was pretty good.

Sounds like the same location. i was in that barracks that connected to the mess hall. it really sucked back then. i worked in bldg C in the information office across the hall from the base commanders office. there was a complex that connected to bldg C in the basement that included, among other things, a bowling alley with a snack bar where i ate many cheeseburgers and drank many a hamm’s beer.

I was in the dorms (that's what we called them since they were like college dorms) across from the ones connected to the chow hall. I called them the Red Roof Inn.

Looks like the same building but appears to have more units added on since i was there. in the middle picture is that looking toward the gate at route 75? the west wall of the mess hall was mostly windows and you could get a glimpse of planes taking off over the highway. eating lunch there one day and happened to be looking out those windows just as a kc135 crashed on takeoff just over the tree line on the far side side of the highway—plumes of black smoke and all hell broke loose—my ncoic immediately ordered everbody back to our duty stations. a picture of the tail section appeared on the front page of my hometown newspaper—which my dad sent to me.I guess things changed after you left. That was taken from the hill across the street in front of building C. The chow hall was to the left of that picture.
Here's another random picture from that hill during the air show with the Blue Angels performing. I believe that is the edge of the dorms you were referring to down in the right corner near the dome in the distance. Building C is down to the left.
Here is one of the planes I worked on coming in for a landing right next to the bowling alley. I was on my squadron's team one year and also bowled off base on another league as well.
I'll have to search through my old pictures one day and see if I have many other good ones of the base or other bases.
