I wonder if Pitino was ever a real candidate. I’m guessing no. I’m sure his name was thrown out and Pitino being Pitino released a statement to look like he was turning down the job because his ego is still king

Michigan State is one of those mediocre big-10 teams that will be in the tournament. Bill Walton said last night that the nacc comitee loves the big-10 for some reason, and I agree with him. I hear every rseason how great the big-10 is, and most of those teams are eliminated the first weekend. They are the most overrated conference every year.
