More Successful, Kentucky Basketball or Alabama Football?

It would be nice to combine our Basketball program with their Football program. Two of the classiest programs in the NCAA. They are always very supportive of us in Basketball.

It pretty much was back in the day. Bear and Rupp

They are both clearly the best program in the history of their respective sports, but I have to say the Alabama dynasty in recent years probably pushes it over the top when one factors in the total number of titles. Even if you take out some of the very questionable titles Alabama has won due to the stupidity of college football polls in the olden days, they still have double digit number legit titles. Now if UK can win this year and get to 9 and win another one in the next couple of years to get to 10 then maybe it goes the other way a bit.

It is very close, and obviously the fact that Alabama gets its best players for 3 years and good players for 4 years vs. 1 year for UKs best players and 2-3 tops for their good players...it's very apples to oranges IMO.

It has to be UK BB. We have won a ton more games than Bama FB.

Both highly successful and the cream of the crop in their respective sports. IMO, Bama with its 15 or so nc's is the winner.

Personally, I believe winning the nc in Football, especially if you are an SEC team is more difficult than winning the ncaa tourn.

It's a lot easier to win a title in football considering voters put you there without having to earn it. There is a legitimate playoff in basketball. You're not handed anything like you are in football. This past year is a great example. Ohio State and Oregon wouldn't have even got a title shot if the four team thing didn't happen. How many titles have been handed instead of earned due to that system?
