I'm fine with it, honestly. Refs won't give a shit if Miami takes a loss.. Duke on the other hand.
Well, yeah, that's just a natural pick, makes way more sense than Duke or UNC.
Huge disappointment. Still a good game but big letdown.
Snoozer. I know Miami has been good recently but that's only because their big boosters have bought their rosters. I don't wanna play another football school.
You would be surprised how little input the schools get. ESPN pretty much gets to do whatever they want with a little input from the SEC/ACC at the league office level but not much. (Hence why we played Kansas so much in the SEC/Big 12 version)

Miami is going to be a tough game.Im saying its a must win. We've lost way too many games like this past couple years.
Getting the final 4 team returning most of their core early in the season in a matchup everyone is disappointed in. That screams trap and our boys better come locked in against a team of grown men.
I get people being upset not getting Duke but Miami is going to be a tough matchup for us.
Miami has been to an elite eight and a final four the past two years. I don’t like that we didn’t get Duke or UNC either, but their program has done a lot more than ours the past few years. We will have to be on our A game for this matchup
Honestly, this is a sad indictment of the current state of our program over the last few years. Essentially they paired the top 2 SEC teams with UNC/Duke.

This is like having ketchup on eggs. Yeah it maybe good, but it’s not the logical choice. Does ESPN not want viewership? UNC or Duke would be the biggest game of the year. And draw tons of eyes.
It’ll be a good game, but how tf do they not give us Duke or UNC? The viewerships for either of those games would’ve been off the charts.

That would have happened but we have sucked lately and we aren’t a good TV draw with our exciting offense.

Unfortunately, that is true. ESPN will gain more viewers by having UK, Duke and UNC play different teams than 2 of the teams playing against each other and only have one other major draw.
Think I read that UK will play Duke in the Champions Classic next year so it won't be in the SEC/ACC challenge.
I will be surprised if they match Duke and UK up next year because of playing in the Champions Classic.
