The 2 teams that used NIL the most are Miami and A&M. Both of those are having disasters for the year. Multiple kids from ATM's record breaking class have had HS coaches contact UGA about the possibility of transferring in. Apparently LOTS of bad feelings and jealousy going on there.
Ok so I think I’m starting to connect the dots. Bill works for or has interest in something called JMI. JMI has beef with Matt Jones I surmise. JMI’s interests somehow align with Mitch.

How about instead of paying my hard earned money to some 18yo to play basketball for my school I just lose interest and stop watching? I think NIL is going to do to college what kneeling for the Anthem did to the NFL. Folks have just had enough of this entitled generation.

Why would anyone choose to not win a championship if they could win one? That makes absolutely no sense.
It's been discussed ad nauseam. These aren't even new. Granted at least it's an actual communication from the athletics department but that's the only difference
Billy Bob fan isn't competing in nil vs major boosters. This is almost as bad as doing nothing, because it's disguised as action while doing effectively nothing.
Unless Mitch lets us get in the game, we'll be permanently on the sideline.
When winning a championship in football is not a priority or not your focus as an AD or the boosters, is that not a choice?

I'm spending roughly $1,000 to take my family to both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. There goes my NIL fund.

Take $50-80 from your next bourbon purchase and put it towards NIL. If every UK fan did that, we wouldn't be behind anyone.

Not near as good as they were. NFL was about to be Americas game. I know we are not in a pro market but I know many people here in Kentucky that quit watching when I did. Quit Fantasy when I did. Quit NFL all together.
I don't believe our AD would choose not to compete in football. I do believe some past ADs may have favored basketball which hurt our football program. Boosters are another story. Boosters will put their money toward the sport they like the best. I don't view it as a choice not to win a championship. It's a choice of how to spend limited resources. They will put those resources toward the sport they like and want to succeed the most. That being said, I think many would be ecstatic if football could win a championship and would gladly support that. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Limited resources have to be rationed and they will ration those resources toward the program they get the most enjoyment from. Historically, that's basketball for many Kentuckians. I think that is changing.
Not true for the country. Ratings only been increasing. People can’t watch enough NFL (I don’t usually watch until the playoffs).

This is what I expected to happen more as time drew on with NIL.
It's one thing to be part of a pro team where salaries and valuation have a long history. There's also a CBA. It's another to be part of a team of haves and have nots with no clear valuation or rules in place. THE ATHLETES are going to have to form an association and negotiate a CBA with the nCaa, so that all of them are properly represented and there is a set of rules. The nCaa can't and won't establish them

That just isn't true, Bama lost number r r receiver because they wouldn't pay, and that's their weakness. I know Gibbs's dad, he wasn't paid to go to Bama. He left Tech because he was struggling academically and they sucked.

There is one person responsible for fund raising and allocating booster donations.
Since the athletic department has feasted off SEC football revenue, the AD should make booster donations to NIL for FB a priority.
Read Cal's message on NIL. One head coach is bragging while the other head coach is begging for support.
The AD needs to get this fixed or prepare for the upcoming disaster in recruiting and trying to rebuild the program once again.......maybe even trying to find another coach who thinks he can recruit FB players to UK without NIL money.
Mitch owns this. He must step up and get UK on level footing with the SEC programs that we are trying to compete with sooner rather than later.
And, yes, he can do it. If he wants to.

Still clueless as to what NIL is. Still. They think NIL is a fund the school uses to raise money for the athletes. NIL is name image and likeness, players can make money off of their name image and likeness as in get endorsement deals. Collectives raise money to give to athletes at a particular school for their name image and likeness. Collectives are 3rd party organizations, not UK. The problem is YOU must step up business must step up. Collectives are out there, YOU don't give and act like someone else is the problem.
I gave $1,000 to take my family to see the Cats play both sports this weekend, I’m all tapped out. Suggesting the common fan pay money for the NIL is absolutely ludicrous. If that’s what it takes I’ll just turn in my fan card, being a fan is expensive enough.
What are your thoughts on the reports of JMI charging a lot of money for the use of the UK logo to businesses that are setting up NIL opportunities for the athletes? Some may even call that a roadblock. Do you deny this? Is it just a big lie?

I am not paid to ensure there is equity in the UK Athletic Department, but I know who is and so do you.
I understand his priorities are his priorities, but don't even try to act like Cal and the basketball players don't receive preferential treatment at UK and from Mitch, because they do.
Is this a serious counter argument? Lol first off that’s a whole different issue. Not even remotely the same. I am a supporter of the right to bear arms. Matter of fact I’m a supporter of the whole constitution. I don’t think we need to change it or re write it and amendments should be kept to a very bare minimum. Second off you are right. They are paid with a scholarship to play hall. That’s the work and the pay. The end. The problem is that saying that’s all they can “earn” is just not right at all. Does your employer tell you that you are absolutely forbidden to earn any money outside of what they pay you? No one’s does. See the problem with telling athletes they can’t? I am struggling to see how right yo hear arms and human right violations have any bearing at all on wanting to restrict a grown adults earnings off of themselves by taking business opportunities presented to them.
