Mingione and Barnhart are destroying the baseball program if all these stories are true. I don’t see how any high school coach worth a crap would send a kid to play at UK right now.
Just putting the baseball part aside, not much of a man anybody that would do that to a kid.
D1 recruiting is cut throat all the way and stuff like this happens all the time. That doesn’t mean I like it and personally I think coaches who operate like this are complete douche bags. I’ve heard multiple stories like this about Saban in football recruiting. Saban wins and he can get away with it. Mingione can’t.

No worries. I appreciate your insight and passion. After reading some of these accounts I agree a change needs to be made. I sure hope Mitch is talking to these kids that are transferring. 50 plus in 5 years is awful!
While this is all well and true, he pulled that offer from the kid to likely get another one that he didn't think would commit without a bigger percentage scholarship offer. NM did that because he was banking on the Lex Catholic kid wanting to come to UK no matter what he did. Basically, he was going for a two for one. The day before stuff is bush league regardless. No communication until signing day is a slap in the face. That stuff travels around the elite travel teams. That's where you get the best players. If kids are talking about UK at Jupiter, I can't imagine it's positive.
It dosnt matter who it is. The message needs to be sent that you aren’t going to treat players like B3N this way here. You’re not going to step all over the players to field a team that isn’t even a threat to make the postseason. You want to behave like a big league manager you had better be making a splash on the national scene. Not saying that would make it right. Worse off he compounds all of this cut throat behavior with a ton of goofy horseshit about family and God to try and fluff the backbone of the university fan base.

Absolutely no way you can lose top level in-state guys. Personally I have little to no confidence Barnhart can get anyone decent. Maybe he can luck into someone who works out. I don’t think I would listen to John Cohen anymore though.
And if Nick wants to treat his players like a commodity Like he is Managing in a pro org then he should be held to the same standard and he should be benched for someone else like he benched Kessler. Don’t fire him just make him sit there and watch and practice managing while another coach we grab from juco our of the blue or somewhere else manages this team.
Oh and if you are going to toss players aside it would help to not be completely incorrect on top of it. Kessler!
He gives not a care about the future of the players he is chucking aside. Transferring is not easy to pull off and land on your feet. There is a stigma about why the coach would let you go.
But Brett Marshall ? Beat it Brett there is Probley some NAIA school you could transfer to in January of your senior year. Eastern Kentucky State Tech on your degree reflects positively on the 3.5 years you attended U of K.
Just a gut feel but I’m starting to feel like Mingione is going to be fired shortly after the NCAA tournament field is announced.

Ironically, SEMO won the OVC tourney today and they are coached by Childress's former Associate HC, Andy Sawyers.
If MB had his pulse on the program, he should've been waiting for the team bus when it got back from Hoover to hand NM his walking papers. These losses are big losses for depth and also leadership. Upperclassmen with regular playtime leaving your program sets a clear tone.
Same thing almost that NM told B3N as Cottongame. I hope whatever Mingione that he was squeezing out of his LaR pitcher on the team that I was worth treating B3N that way.
