To be honest, that would have been his best move. Sometimes the best thing in life is to admit a mistake and go forward. Having said that, I don't see that happening.
He’s going to announce that he’s quitting both the NCAA and NBA, and will instead become the best YMCA pick up player of all time. His dad will be his personal cheerleader, skirt and all.

The dude packed his room up in the middle of the year and abandoned an already undermanned team with nobody else at his position.
What’s he gonna do now, come back and compete with BJ Boston, Terrence Clarke, and Cam’Ron Fletcher for minutes? Not a chance.
I don’t believe it’s over for him, but it will certainly be an uphill battle to establish himself as a legitimate long-term player in the NBA. More than likely, he’ll spend majority of his career overseas.
His journey will be inspiring for kids wanting to play in the G league..
I'm thinking of putting my name in for the 2020 draft as well. I want to inspire kids and athletes all over the globe too.
He and Jalen Green should open up a joint ice cream store when their playing days are done and call it "Cucky and the Clown's Ice Cream Shop."

People act like they are handing out slots in the G League on a first-come-first-served basis. There are First Team All Conference players from the ACC, SEC and B-10 in the G-League. There are 25-year-old former NBA high second rounders.

I think he (and his family) felt if he had remained the rest of the year he was more likely to be exposed even more than he already had. Cut losses while he could.
His story would be inspiring to excessive tobacco or alcohol users.
Basketball players? Not so much.

Exactly. The young man is NOT even a fair basketball player; he's simply that bad. How on earth he expects to get drafted is beyond comprehension.
Actually, he'll be lucky to even play on an overseas team, IMO, he lacks ALL fundamental skills in the sport. I'll never understand why Cal recruited him to begin with to be honest. Oh yeah, he's extremely athletic....I forgot.
