Wouldn’t be odd to me because most are saying more gut feeling than anything concrete.

Would be very odd for 9 guys to pick him to UK in a 12 hr period, several of them being the top experts, then have him give an announcement date less than 48 hrs later only to then sign with a random school.

I would say something leaked somewhere pretty convincingly that he is headed to UK.

It’s a little different than Juzang because they were all saying they would be shocked if he didn’t pick UK. With Jaden most are saying gut feeling and they think but not one has totally hitched their wagon to McDaniels picking UK. I’ve read all of there comments and they leave about with the “gut” feeling or “hearing UK is in the lead” type thing. I hope Cal gets him but I’ve seen them be wrong when they leave themselves outs.

They aren't completely sure due to how secretive Jaden and his camp have been. Most fans will overlook those little things these recruiting guys say because they want the player so bad that they only hear/see what they want to hear/see which is why I say I think he picks UK but would shock me if he picked some other school besides UK or Washington

Usually when all the experts get on board (whether for a specific team or the national guys), there's a reason. The recruitment was completely quiet for a long time and then suddenly all of the national guys started giving us crystal ball picks. Now it comes out that he's ready to announce.

That all points to the assumption many had that his camp was finally letting it out once they were ready to end the process.

It's basically what happened with Juzang. A little chatter, then the Kentucky visit and reclassification, then all the Kentucky guys start basically letting the cat out of the bag and you know it's done. Same formula as last year when Reid didn't take any other visits or when Duke was suddenly trending for Cassius Stanley.

Once the levee breaks, it's a pretty safe bet.

True but Daniels did same thing with Matthew Hurt and Slater is always dialed into things--he's best in business IMO.

I have a gut feeling.

This group reminds me of the '97 team. Two very good point guards (Epps/Turner vs. Hagans/Quickley), an onslaught of elite wings, a pick and pop 4 man (Sestina vs. Padgett), and two adequate defensive minded bigs (Mohammed/Magloire vs. Richards/EJ).

I hope the result is the same, except for that last game of the season, obviously.

I have a question. I haven't seen either one of them play, (Hurt/McDaniels) but after watching just about all of their mix tapes my question is. How is Hurt ranked above McDaniels?. To me McDaniels looks like a top 3 player in the class. His skill set is very unique. Hurt might shoot better but McDaniels is Quicker, more explosive, more athletic, more moves, can create his own shot way better, plus his all around Defense and rebounding look alot better. Most of Hurts film is Jump shots and 3's. McDaniels dose it all. Wow if KENTUCKY lands him we are set for a special season. Kid is a top 3 player and on potential might be the #1. My main question after all that is. Wonder what his work ethic is like? If kid can goes to work he will be something very special.

Hurt's been a known prospect in this class for years....McDaniels shot from low 90's/outside the top 100 last Spring/Summer. Hurt is an excellent offensive player who can shoot the ball. McDaniels has the ability to shoot, but he's not proven it as long. I like McDaniels for Kentucky more then Hurt--even though Hurt would've been a great offensive weapon for Cal--he doesn't have any defensive ability. McDaniels at least has potential to defend--Hurt on perimeter would be Wiltjer like--and both are very thin so against college experience in paint, will be rough go on glass. Can't speak for McDaniels here-but I've seen Hurt since he was a FR-he doesn't rebound well against peers.

I hope our fans appreciate the gutsy outlook of Juzang and McDaniels. They're both coming into situations where there's a multitude of depth at their prospective positions.

Got to love the fact that these two aren't scared of competition, or the fact that Brooks and company haven't been afraid of recruiting guys who will take some of their minutes.

So my assessment was spot on and to me McDaniels just has more tools in the box to work with. To me it's no question that McDaniels can be a superstar one-day and Hurt a solid roll player at peak of their careers. I wasn't disappointed when Hurt choose Duke honestly. McDaniels can give us something both ends of the floor. Hurt I think is over rated. If Hurt was only 6'-6" or 6'-7" he probably be a 3 star. His ability to shot over defenders at being almost 7 foot gives a perception that he is better then what he is. He can't play D and cannot rebound plus he isn't very athletic. It's the opposite for McDaniels. He can run down the floor stop fast break lay ups and dunks, Can provide weak side defensive help on shot blocking and rebounding, plus his athletic ability he can attack the rim and can create for himself. He has the highest ceiling in this class if he puts in the work. No brainier to me my only knock on them both is just young and still in boys body. They need them protein shakes, chicken, eggs, yo go along with a bunch of soup beans and taters. I would load him up with Calories, Carbs, as much as protein. Put about 20-25 lbs on that frame. I wish I could get a job training and putting strength on players. I use to train and bulk up Corrections Officers. Help them with strength and size. I probably trained about 8-10 all making very good gains in both areas.

I'd not put McDaniels in the shot blocker category. He's not a paint defender. What he can do is use length and size to disrupt the spread offenses which so many teams play 4 out 1 in or even spread 5 out. Always good to have length to challenge. I think he has more professional upside but Hurt will be a great fit at Duke--think Ryan Kelly type of player for them. Duke has been frustrated with their poor shooting the past 2 seasons, so a guy like Hurt will help that improve a great deal.

McDaniels is type who can comfortably get a rebound and lead a break. I think his best asset is passing-he's very underrated due to teams he was on needed him to score. Lacks physical strength/weight but most young players do in college. I've always seen UK as the best place to push him out of his comfort zone and force him to develop in areas that need improvement. He seems to like to work as it takes work to elevate your game in eyes of National Scouts from near 100 to top 10 range. I think he'd also benefit from fitting in with other great players something he's only done on All Star circuit---it will allow him to fit in and develop and the only drawback I have against UW is that zone. It's brutal in preparing guys for what they need to do, easy to be lazy and develop horrible habits which sets your professional development back.

Wake up man. It’s not a gut feeling. It’s whats being used to prevent giving up the source. All these analysts didn’t flip over a “gut feeling” regardless of what they say. 10 guys who get a guy feeling all at once??? Lmao they have info someone leaked his decision.

Got to defend Jakarii here. A lot of times the CB "switches" are due to whom is the first to change their prediction. Out of the 10 guys, I'd say 2, maybe 3 have actual info on the recruitment. Jakarii makes a great point. Look at who did it--I trust Slater, Daniels, and Brian Snow far more then Meyer, or others. Corey Evans tends to be conservative for a reason and he's excellent. Bossi is vastly underrated and has a great feel for things. He was the lone guy who kept giving Kentucky a shot with Kevin Knox nationally. No surprise the guys who actually attend events tend to get more accurate info.

Still my point remains even with 2 or 3 guys. They aren’t going to flip over a gut feeling. These are nationally known guys not Kyle tucker or Matt Jones. Evan Daniels has more info than just a feeling. It’s gotten to such a fever pitch that even CBS in their recent early hoops ranking had mcdaniels listed as a newcomer. The National analysts may use a “gut feeling” in the beginning but not at the end.

Evan Daniels, who’s the best in the business just said today UK is the strong leader for McDaniels. I guess your whole goal is to be a contrarian on a message board.

That is literally his shtick, while occasionally throwing subtle jabs at UK fans in general. It’s confusing because he’s a self admitted NON UK fan...

Agree on that aspect but it's not like the amount of people matters with that Crystal Ball thing. Few are dialed into every recruitment, it's impossible for most guys who cover different areas of country, teams, focus on FB rather BB, etc....

Daniels and Slater know something is up. CBS owns 24/7 Sports so Parrish is just using the intel he read for his projection.

Daniels is a big Louisville fan. He took same approach on Matthew Hurt's recruitment and was proven to be correct, so hope history repeats itself.

Hurt isn’t ranked ahead of McDaniels.
