Halloween 1988 after riding around the neighborhood in a rickety trailer stacked with hey pulled by a family station wagon the old man and his buddies decided it would be a grand idea to come back to our house and watch The Exorcist. They all sat there pounding Miller Lites and Mr Gatti’s pizza while all us kids stuffed our faces with chocolate and other sweets and watching that terrifying movie.

Blazing Saddles is a cinematic masterpiece. Richard Pryor is my all time favorite comedian. Going to be a while before I watch that with the kid.

We've been watching all the Star Wars movies too. Only about 15 mins of episode 8 and then episode 9 left from the main storyline.
I'm hoping I can get him into some Westerns eventually. Especially the Clint Eastwood stuff.
Little dude is ate up with fishing. Same way I was at that age. Got to do an inshore charter yesterday and he got a nice speckled trout. Hasn't stopped talking about it and is excited to eat it for dinner tonight.

Call me a European socialist, but I would have loved for the US to adopt a “summer shutdown” from Juneteenth to July 4th. Call it a Freedom break or something. It would be similar to the two-week winter break.
