The Who was a garage band. The greatest garage band in history, but a garage band none the less.
-ok, stones are a cover/bar band (literally for their first few records)...love em, but the who was much original and influential to the stuff I dig.

i like talking through all the music that influenced y playing though - it’s fun and i always get SO BETTER after i take the bourbon
....behind Pete and John. PT was a musical genius, especially on the synth. His works on Baba, WGFA, and the entire Quad album are just stupid. He was the sound for the band. Entwistle is generally regarded as one of the best bassists to ever play, and he often took lead over Pete on many tracks. Moon was a follower, but to his credit, he had many difficult tracks to find his own sound.
Also...another wack music take from Chester....garage band. LOL. No sense in even commenting further. #dumbass.

And of the people that regularly post here, I can guarantee you that I know more music theory than all but maybe 3 or 4 people, tops) And I'm only tossing the 3 or 4 in there, on the off chance that one of these guys actually has a music composition degree, and we just don't know it.

Anyone know how hard it would be to DIY install a remote starter on a 2013 RX 350? Going to try to surprise my wife for Christmas. I'm fairly handy but have never done much mechanic work.
Can you read wiring diagrams? If so, I doubt you'll have a lick of trouble.
LOL at referencing "music theory" when talking about the Who or basically any rock band. I don't know if PT was a "genius" musically but he certainly was hugely influential for various things: songwriting (one of first to write, first concept album, etc.), showmanship (influenced Hendrix and tons of guitar heroes to follow); and probably main influencer of punk rock.
Theory applies to every form of music, I'm assuming that Pete didn't half ass it when writing his songs, IOW he was giving it his best, and I can assure you, none of it approaches genius.

Nobody thinks of killer chops when you think about punk rock, but the Dead Kennedy's had serious players in the lineup.

In his own clumsy way, PTI makes a decent point. There are objective methods to judge a song's complexity (and thus the composers grasp on it) Whereas 'liking' a song is completely subjective of course.
Thunderfingers FTW. That dude was the best musician of The Who by a long shot.

My take: the Beatles were the most influential. One step ahead of everyone and prolific songwriters. Studio band, my ass. Literally discovered Hendrix.
However, for repeated listening and approachable tunes - my Sonos has more Stones tunes in the queue.

- Not sure about all the hand-wringing in here. I really enjoy watching this team. I mean, we shot 54% and scored 86 points. This team isn’t an all-timer but they have some very fun parts and play a decent style.
- PG will be a strength. Center is All-American caliber. We rebound the living shit out of the ball. Washington is progessing nicely as a go-to guard. Of course, we need to shoot more 3s and get Grady a bigger role but it’s early.
- Speaking of, I just love Grady. So smooth. Needs to become more than a jumpshooter. Much of that is on Cal but some is on him too.
- Wheeler is that annoying little pest flopper you hate. Glad we have one.
- How money is Tschibwe from 17?
- Polish Collins up, get him some creatinine , bring him back and let’s talk McDyess.
- He’s not technically good but I really enjoyed Joe Klein on the color last night.
- Kneejerk but looking like many of us were right that UNC took the wrong alum. Wes Miller can coach.

It's an interesting question though. Which contemporary (from mid 20th century on) artists would be considered an actual musical genius.
The top musicians that he worked with all swear Brian Wilson was. I couldn't speak to it, because I wouldn't listen to the Beach Boys on a dare.

The Stones are the greatest rock band of all time, partially due to longevity, but mainly due to incredible precision fundamentally, and great music for listening too.
