U of L counterclaimed for leverage. It's not like they initiated the suit. If they didn't assert that claim now, they'd never be able to claim an offset.

Still, it's pretty unusual for a university to go that route.
Looking forward to that Andre McGee deposition! (It'll never happen)

Making my return to fourth street live! tonight to catch Chris Knight/Isbell at the Palace. Staying at the Brown.

Weighing Fridays vs. Fieri's pre-show what a scene!

This whole justification for Jurich, doing his job well and doing best for UL, is complete bullshit. He's a public official, his obligation is further than just raping everyone he can to get UL the best athletic gear.
By his reasoning, blowing up every competing athletic department would be "doing his job."

No question Jurich did a lot of great things for UofL. But he abused his power to the benefit of himself and his inner circle. Absolute power corrupts. And he basically had absolute power for almost a 15 year run.

Indeed.

F’ing over your business partners in completely lopsided deals is only sustainable in the short term. It’s terrible practice.

I’d love for Kentucky to get a Yum Center-like arena, for example, but not at the expense of Lexington’s financial ruin.

It’s no joke that we have been posting about Jurich in the 12 years I’ve been posting in this thread. We knew this stuff was going on. The CJ reported nothing about this at all. If we knew about then they surely should have been reporting. The were just too scared and that’s when I want to knock the righteous journalist off their pedestal.

It's the University of Kentucky Wildcats, not the damn Lexington Wildcats.

What kind of repulsive shit is happening in lexington when UK is leasing a damn basketball arena that is outdated by about 30 years. Just a few miles from their own damn campus mind you, so there is no location argument.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 15, 2016) –The Lexington Center Corporation (LCC) and the University of Kentucky have agreed in principle to a new 15-year lease at Rupp Arena. The new lease will begin at the expiration of the existing lease.

The agreement, outlined in a letter of intent signed this week by LCC and UK officials, will ensure that the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team plays at Rupp through the 2033 season. The current lease expires at the end of the 2018 season.

OH WOW THANKS MITCH! Why wasn't he fired for this???

And discouraging the NBA from moving a franchise to Louisville because NOTHING TAKES A BACKSEAT TO THE CARDS!

What a true people's champion that Jurich guy is.

Palace is the best venue to watch a concert in the state.

Uh...no. Palace is fine if you have excellent seats, otherwise, their lowers are awful once you get halfway back.

EKU Center
Norton Center
Ky Center for Arts
EKEC
Opera House

^^^^all the above much better venues for concerts than the Palace.
