At least the checkerboard pattern i saw in the video is not that bad, not overwhelming, like the awful unis. Thankful they didn't go the Neyland Stadium route with that part of the design.:raised_hands:

Wouldn't be surprised if there is an ugly ass new Cat logo with a carton of milk and toast on the floor tho.

I know what is not on the new court. The outline of the state at half court.
Might be a safety hazard, but this is clearly the only reasonable option.

Going to Louisville tomorrow afternoon for a business meeting in the afternoon solo.

Any recs for a solid late lunch near Fourth Street?

Thursday Randoms:

- You just have to syh at all shady bullshit that has gone on at that university the last decade or so. They never get called on it either. Any criticism is fleeting- especially as far as athletics. Hell, I've read a couple Petrino redemption headlines of late. [laughing] I'm sure we'll get the same for Pitino AGAIN when they make a run this year. Unless it's rape/murder/molestation/videod-domestic-battery, scandal just doesn't stick in sports these days. No one has the attention span for it.

- Good to hear Jones thinks we lead for Knox and Bamba. May not be true, but it means the staff feels good. Those dudes are legit.

- Also sounds like there are rumblings about Tremont Waters becoming a Cat. This would be in addition to Young, of course, as we need a lot of guards. Kid has a little Ulis in his game. Love his J and pace.

- Brian Bowen, a Top 10-15 kid, is starting to produce some UK rumblings as well. Michigan State leads but the kid is a stud. Insurance for Knox perhaps?

- Thanks, Boat. I'm definitely looking forward to putting on a flannel, visiting Neltners, listening to some live Bluegrass, drinking some cider and apple pie and enjoying the farm for an afternoon here soon.

- I bounced on Simmons' HBO show months ago. Has it gotten any better? I just don't think his brand translates to TV. Same with Jimmy Rome.

- I wouldn't be mad if Rupp's court looked like Memorial at all.

- One of my good buddies is getting married this weekend. She's the youngest of 11 and from the country in Indiana and the reception will be at the local VFW. [laughing] My kinda party. I can't wait.

WELL, MATT. LOOK, IT'S A FLOOR DESIGN. GUESS THERE'S QUITE A BIT OF CHATTER VIA SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT THE DESIGN CHOICE. TYPICAL FOR THE MICORWAVE SOCIETY WE LIVE IN. CAN I REMIND THE BIG BLUE NATION THAT WE'RE ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUN THIS?

Higher education in this country has become nothing but a gd scam. For profit colleges, non-profit colleges --> all the same. Pretty disgusting, to be honest.

Boycotting UK football would be a good thing to do, :100points:.

Piggybacking off of Chad's list, these podcasts are highly recommended:

Lore
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
In the Dark - digs into the Jacob Wetterling abduction case; similar to Serial

Decent little Thursday night slate w/ CFB/NFL -- Extra bonus ----> wife just emailed me to let me know she got last minute seats to Dixie Chicks at Yum, and will "be home late" [cheers]

Take your time

Upgraded from 0% for Lexington Saturday to 50%, and rising. Solo opportunities are hard to pass up these days.

-Layed a nice bet on USC +2.5 and UofL -25 already.

-Seafood Lady to be featured on Triple D -- good for her. Poor Lady was just robbed a few weeks back...she's already developed enough of a cult following to have her lines around the block, imagine this will only make it even better for her.

-Can't imagine how pumped Chad is for the Natalie Holloway Netflix deal. Then again, he's been deep into that case from the beginning more than anyone I know, so maybe it will be boring to him. They seem to crush these deals though, can't imagine it won't be awesome.

-Why do black people like to destroy & loot their own community when they are angry about something? Always found that bizarre.

-Some more fall-feeling weather on the horizon? God I hope so. Can't imagine what it is you idiots are doing daily while worshipping 92 degree weather that you couldn't enjoy just as much at 75. Idiots

Shew, Bill Meck was getting all randy last night about these temps. Hoping for one more hot weekend at the lake for the Bama game.

* The dramatic rise in college tuition and expenses is unreal. I'm not smart enough to know all the minor details of why, but it's pretty obvious by driving around any campus in America that $$ is being wasted. At UK, basically every single building has been torn down and/or replaced in the last 14 years since I've graduated. The term "price elasticity" comes to mind, too. Those of you with formal training in economic principals (like us Gatton graduates) would understand this.

* Got a kick out of seeing the CEO of Mylan (the EpiPen people) get grilled by Congress yesterday on tv while at the gym. Basically, those asswipes have their pockets lined with cash from the pharmaceutical industry, put in place a bunch of ridiculous, unnecessary regulations that practically beg for companies to set outrageous prices.......and then they have the audacity to call her out for taking advantage of the craziness that they created? Goodness.

* Finishing up Hillbilly Elegy. Good stuff. I've got a few super outrageously socialist Occupy Everything types who always whine about income inequality, and it's almost always a black-white issue. This book tells the story of small town white trash, basically. I've always thought the rural, small town white gets left out of these discussions. Inner city black can walk a few blocks in any direction and find a job. Small town white cannot. Very depressing tale of hopelessness.

* 170 on the scale this morning. Fursch. Resting heart rate of 51 at the doc yesterday, too.

* Got a date tonight.....at a gas station.

Shawarma On The Go, located inside a Middle Eastern-owned gas station. Yes, please.

* I sleep like a baby. Out before 10 last night. Up before 6 this morning. Got to Starbucks before 7 to do a little reading before starting the work day.

Really can't believe I'm so late on the Spotify bandwagon. I used it once for like 5 minutes when it first came out years ago, and I didn't immediately love it so I checked out on it. Only with Hank's comment about having unlimited music for $10 a month did it dawn me that maybe I should look into it again. I guess I had no idea it was like having an unlimited ipod. And for $15 a month my entire family can have their own accounts. I mean, I'm done with XM, obviously.

Small town dirt poor whites (the shirtless dirties, as we used to call them) may get the worst of it, IMO. Black people trying to tell them about white privilege = [laughing].
