- Got the casinos on the ballot in Nebraska. A lot of hard, tough...but fun work. My petitioners got enough signatures a week before deadline and I got enough commits to not strike it down.

- Decided to not stick around Omaha until the election. I have taken another job in Arkansas that I will be at for two weeks starting tomorrow. They need one last push to get something on the ballot there.

- August, I have decided on Denver to be at for the next year+. It was close between Denver and Berkeley...but Denver is cheaper to live in, the pay is a little better, and it's an awesome city.

- College World Series is incredible...the whole town is electric. I highly recommend everyone get out there for it once in their lives. It's in a cool area of town, lots to do, and the whole city is buzzing.

- The Coastal Carolina run was amazing.

- Really wanted to go to the swim trials this week in Omaha as well, didn't work out though. Was going to go tomorrow for the Lotche-Phelps showdown...but flight is early in the AM.

Probably...they are pretty close on their initiative, may be able to knock it out in a week or so. Not even going to be in Little Rock or Fayetteville...will be in Texarkana.

Nice payday for 1-2 weeks work though.

Seems like a decent town when I pass through. Think the Texas side is nicer.

Any body want to guess what kind of contract offer Timofey Mozgov is getting with career averages of 6.9ppg and 4rpg?

Supposedly the Lakers have offered him 4 yrs/$65 million. What a time to be alive and a NBA free agent.

-great call on Denver.

-how about this for mail guys... you're welcome for continuing to pay your salary in a government branch that is completely inefficient and losing tons of tax payer money for basically it's entire existence? Pat on the back or a sincere wave should suffice at this point.

This. I think mine takes a nap in front of my house everyday on the clock.

My mailman repeatedly destroys mailboxes here in the neighborhood. Hits them with the mirror on his mail truck and tears them off the post and of course, the HOA has a standard so they're these fancy ones with scroll work, etc., so it costs people a ridiculous amount for something as simple as a mailbox. He's taken out 3 this month. People call and complain to the postmaster and he gives zero cares, so no tip for mailman in this hood.

- Dad (retired mailman) used to get small gifts- $10 gift cards, baked goods (mostly), and aetc., but he's the most social person I know so he probably got to know most of the people on his route.

- I don't know how actual parents do it. This pup is driving me nuts. Has shit twice and pissed 3x since 7am. Also chewed through an iPhone charger during a two-minute stretch when I was busy taking his bagged shit to the dumpster. He's a menace to society.

- Congrats, Tommy. Have never heard a bad word about Denver.

- HATE sales. Props to those are good at it. I would be ok in a certain situation, but have always admired the natural born types.

- Pro-Olympics. Nice change of pace during the dog days of summer.

Your yard takes 10 minutes to cut with a pair of scissors. What do you pay them...an extra $5 on top of the $5 it would cost to mow your yard?
I give them an extra $20 -$25 at the end of the year for Christmas on last cut payment, scrooge.

Been to Denver a few times and heading back this fall for the beer festival.

Never had a bad time there and never known anyone who lived there that was eager to leave.

So, i guess there is a drawing tonight for:
Mega Millions jackpot grows to $415 million, 10th largest in US history

Rarely buy them until i see them like this.

PTI is the DeCourcey of this board.

No matter how dumb the argument, no matter how ridiculous the opinion, no matter how indefensible the position, he sticks to his guns.

It's both admirable and sad.

Denver is smoggy as touch and right on the edge of the boring ass plains. Boulder or Fort Collins >>>>>

There bad things about Denver. Come at me trolls!

So what's the plan for July 4th weekend?

Today/Saturday
I'm headed to the lake to help build my father in laws deck, fish, get the kids out on the water and let them swim, and shoot off some fireworks from Tennessee.

Sunday
We will go to a side of her family I don't know and just about the time we get close to eat their burnt food I'll piss someone off with a political take or even question someone's parenting just so my kids don't have to tell them they can't cook. My Sacrifice!

Monday
I get new couches that were supposed to be cancelled to fix the compressor on the A/C, but after agreeing the wife changed her mind because "it's a 4th of July sale" that I'm sure my mom pitched to her as they shopped. If it wasn't for our 1 month old I'd wish the compressor would just go out so she would get another dose of man=right and woman=materistically wrong.

Throw in a few hot dogs/brats, a few beers, maybe even a steak and that is about as American of a weekend as I got.

Next weekend though that Arc opening is going to be pretty damn cool, I think.

Just the beginning, WCC. Embrace the process. Total pain in the ass when your lil man takes a fresh dump on your living room floor or decides to urinuate all over the carpet.

A few months will go by and he will be much bigger and fully house trained.

The lass is Rupp's enabler. We don't crate him any longer and he now sleeps with us. The toucher is like an old man. Gets up at 6:30 am practically on the dot every morning and starts pawing my arm. I'm a light sleeper and can't go back to sleep once I'm up.

All worth it. Dude is starting to go bonkers when I get home.. Tail waggin, etc.

Take the advice from Mash. When the lass wants you to attend some hen centric social gathering play the pup needs attention card & stay home. Voila. Crack one. Peace and quiet.

•Denver is an amazing city. Could easily live there or in the surrounding area. Clean, active and attractive people (far fewer fat slobs), beautiful scenery, plenty of things to get in to, etc.

Lol @ chad for being upset with a dog pooping and peeing. :scream:

•first night with new pup, Gus. Turns out the little guy likes to sleep to music, like me. After three hours of trying different places and arrangements, the crate next to the bed and a little John Moreland did the trick.

Dude gave us 5 solid hours before having to pee. So far, no accidents. Kids are helping to take him out every 20 minutes or so. Bonus--he's not a generic used dog from a shelter. Pure bred only for this guy.

(Kidding, sloot...)

•we had a female mail carrier for the first three years in our current house. She'd always have a treat for the dogs if we were hanging out in the yard. We gave her a gift card one year.

Now, we have a rotating crew of 3-4 different ones.

•I've managed to make a career out of sales for the last 13 years or so...it definitely takes a certain personality. Sure, the money has been good, but I do think I'd enjoy several different career paths. The opportunity cost of building a book of business in something like insurance/banking/lumber/mortgage, etc. is the only thing that occasionally gives me pause about staying in this specific industry.

Dolly has had the 48hr runs so I've been up at 3am and 6am the last two nights to let her out. Poor thing. I know how urgent it is and it makes me feel good when she comes trotting back in all relieved and thankful that I let her out to potty. Chad, how would you feel if someone else controlled your pottying habits? And how would you feel if you really had to go and that someone neglected to let you outside? You'd shit in their floor and maybe even roll in it to teach them a lesson. Shitting is probably one of life's greatest little necessities. I suggest you take potty time a little more seriously.

I don't blame the puppy, think its more likely Chad's shitty parenting.

You want to talk about regret, call me when you buy a yacht. There are things worse than some housebreaking and iphone chargers my friend.

Maybe I get mine back today, most likely not. Whatever.

Shaving strokes off the game. Might break the barrier today.

Friday: Work long enough that I don't have to chase kids around the house all day, then go home, bathe a couple of 'em, and have a few pops.

Saturday: Take care of some things around the house so that I don't have to spend the whole day chasing kids around, then go a minor league baseball game with the family, and have a few pops.

Sunday: Go to the in-laws' lake house (tragically, they're Baptists which means they're teetotalers which means BORING) and spend the day chasing kids around, then go home and have a few pops.

Monday: Spend the day chasing kids around, then watch firecrackers and sparklers and whatever.

I'm 100% dead on about the Olympics. Next up is South Korea. Go ahead and cut and paste the same news stories. Whiny ass journalists. And, like always, the games themselves will be amazing.

Yeah, CALL ME WHEN YOU BUY A YACHT, bro. [eyeroll]

Pool party today at a formerly clothing optional place downtown. Still maintains quite a bit of its racy heritage, from what I understand.

NBA contracts are a different animal. You haven't seen me opine about their stupidity. Just MLB.

Call me when you buy a yacht.

Congrats to Bellydancer and his gal.

wcc. Is there a return policy? If it's not housebroken at 8 weeks, you probably got a defective one. Next thing you know that thing will want shots and all kinds of crazy nonsense.

Ummmm.....call me when you buy a freaking YACHT.

Naturally, I'm really excited about the young lass on the way. I would never have a preference of a boy vs a girl because we are blessed to have any child but I always envisioned how I would raise a son.

With a baby girl on the way I'm going to be outnumbered all the way. May just start to realize that it's easier to give in at times . Sure thing, toots. I surrender. Whatever she wants. My biggest concern is when she becomes a teenager and there's young horn dogs like all of us crawling around.

Denver is ok- I wouldnt call it great by any stretch. 10 years ago maybe, but the influx of loser pot enthusiasts, homeless youths migrating to the city and the increase in petty crime is eventually going to become a major issue. The suburbs are nice though.
