NBA defense now is better than it's ever been in terms of strategy, design, coaching, etc.
I don't know, I think Gregg Popovich and Tom Thibodeau and their ilk would have a tough time coming up with a defensive game plan to slow down the likes of Kelly Tripucka and Kiki Vandeweghe.

That's racist, let me balance it out with some black guys from that era who put up similar stats.

^ exactly.

BACK IN THE 80S THEY WOULD HAVE LAID STEPH ON HIS ASS HE WOULDN'T DO SHIT.

[eyeroll]

Has zero to do with 80s basketball, you never hear me say it was better back then. Ever.

But my point was made last night thanks to the Warriors. Its a glorified 3 point shooting contest. First half, Warriors make 11 of 19 3's and its a tie game. 2nd half they shoot 3-21 and they get run out of the gym because pretty much all they do is shoot 3's.

Steph is the most one-dimensional player on the planet. And his defense is comical. Greatest shooter ever, but not much more than that.

I'm no pro or college basketball but imo being the greatest shooter ever can make up for defensive lapses.

I know HOFCJVC disagrees, but there, I said it.

If LeBron really wants to win titles, he needs to check his f'n ego, allow himself to be coached and let the front office build the damned team. LeBron demanded Love on this team and stacked the bench with his shitty buddies. He's a great basketball player, but that's where it ends and with no Pat Riley around to check him there's no one to tell him to get pumped when he wants to play president and GM.

Tuesday Shorts:

- This may be controversial but I just don't like long vacations. Four, maybe 5 days is long enough for me. As much fun as I had, I was glad to be coming home when I did. I'm not even jealous of my lass who's now in Hawaii.

- Lorenzo Romar is basically West Coast Leonard Hamilton. Great guy who everyone likes and a tremendous recruiter...but suspect at best on the bench. Dude will have two OAD lottery picks this year in Murray and Chriss. Has Fultz next year and Porter after that. That's stupid talent.

- This Jamal Murray hype just further reminds me that we wasted a once-in-a-lifetime backcourt. Can't believe neither Poythress nor Lee ever really improved after their freshmen years. Grrr.

- Good TV week for dad- 8 more hours of the OJ doc, which is tremendous; and also jumped back into Silicone Valley after barely dipping my toes in it when it began. Very impressed. LOL funny, if not ROTLMAO funny.

- Can't wrap my mind around any basketball not enjoying the way the Warriors play.

- Of course, I saw some UK gear out on the left coast. All on kids.

- That "Work Work Work" song is my favorite shitty pop song in sometime. Have liked it from the get-go, particularly enjoy the rap interlude, "Can you make it clap, no hands for me?", which seems like an absurd request for a lover. Anyway, this reminds me of my long-held belief that a Grammy should be given to "Best Rap Interlude In a Pop Song." Like, Lil Wayne should've gotten a Grammy in 2009 for "Down Down Down" and Juicy J in 2013 for "Dark Horse," among other examples.

- Not surprisingly, Julie Taylor is looking good these days. And Minka Kelly NEVER ages.:fire:

Lebron playing a wing/power forward hybrid = undisputed MVP and 2 rings

Lebron playing full time guard = Cleveland

Pretty simple, really.

My God, 'Work' is probably my least favorite shitty pop song.

That uncensored video tho. o_O About as good as it gets if you enjoy Rhianna nude dancing or soft-core porn.

Different song. This one is "Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony. Confusing, I know.

Jason Isbell & John Moreland just announced. 2 dates in October. Maybe my good buddy wildcatadam will make the trip down. [thumb2][thumb2]

If mass murder isn't enough to begin with, I cringe at the thought of the inevitable social media breakdown. Gun rights, LGBT issues, political wars, religious debates, immigration policies.....[sick]

Stephen Curry is stupid and I hate him.

Silicon Valley is amazing. I laugh out loud at every single interaction between Guilfoile and the Indian. And damn near died at that prank call from the Chinese kid...."uhhh....is your refrigerator running? This is Mike Hunt." [roll]

Mike Jordan tried to play GM, too, and was basically ignored. That's a big reason why he hated Jerry Krause so much.
There's a great story in "Jordan Rules" about Jordan throwing a hissy fit after the Bulls didn't sign Walter Davis when he asked them to. He wanted more UNC guys on the team and was already mad when the Bulls lowballed Sam Perkins and the Lakers picked him up. Never mind that Davis had a known cocaine problem at the time. I don't remember who the Bulls ended up signing instead of Davis but I want to say it was the draft pick that became BJ Armstrong.

And that's the thing with LeBron. Miami had guys in the leadership position to say no. With Cleveland it's like spending the night at your grandparents' house as a kid, forever. They're just so happy to have him that actual team building strategy is secondary. I mean...how does anybody watch the Knicks from 2 seasons ago and decide that having JR Smith and Iman Shumpert on the same team is a good idea, much less putting them on the floor at the same time?

He's actually Pakistani.

That's kinda Cleveland in a nutshell though. That's how they do.

Shumpert and Smith were to be bench guys that were athletic enough to play defense and Smith "can" light it up so at times with Lebron on the bench they could have benefit from him as a 6th man.

The Love/Wiggins deal was awful, is awful, and will get worse within 2 seasons.

Lebron in that 4th quarter went back to being a jump shooter(with the exception of 1 post that went for an "and 1") and should be thanking Kyrie Irving for carrying them to finish the game.

I've been friends on facebook with maxx for like a year and didn't even realize it was him until he posted pictures of Yellowstone yesterday after talking about it on here. Going to block him now

I'd rather listen to the sonic commercial guys fill in on KSR than ryan lemond and Matthew Mitchell. Good lord these dorks are awful.

Kinda mean imo.

The "Lake Cumberland Boaters.com" facebook page has been high comedy lately.

Most recently some poor bastards posted a picture of a spoonbill (paddlefish) they caught, and it has all the Rob's out in full force spouting Ky wildlife rules.

It’s a big morning for Kentucky Sports Radio radio as Matthew Mitchell fills in for Matt Jones as the show’s host. One of our favorite guest hosts each year, Mitchell will likely take more of a serious role during today’s show, considering the current state of his program.

But we also hope to hear a little Kelly Clarkson, too.

^ reads like a parody but is real

In-n-out gets the "well, we can't get it back home and it's a California institution and I've heard so much about it and we're using one of our vacation meals and I know about the secret menu" benefit of the doubt for travelers.

It's good but nowhere near the over the top hype.

Disagree. In-N-Out is effing amazing. It's like Chick-Fil-A for burgers. And they pay their employees like $15/hour, and they are all super friendly. Probably some crazy religion thing going on...which is the secret coding on the cups. Super secret and insider franchising, but mostly family corporate owned. Fresh fries. Fresh burgers. What's not to like?

Refuse to listen to KSR today. Can't do it.

Thank goodness Bilas is hosting tomorrow. He was solid last year. So much more off the cuff than he is with ESPN.

Thought it was kind of funny that Cutler didn't take one call yesterday and basically gave his opinion on all things current UK & told stories about himself for 2 hours straight. Essentially called out Marcus Lee for having every opportunity this past year to be " featured " in an offense like he wants to be at his next destination, showing up at the combine completely out of shape and never being honest with himself as a player. Also basically called Shannon Dawson a blithering idiot. All true. Good stuff.

Show is pretty much perfect in every way. As is VEEP.

Erlich Bachmann is my hatboggan.

This.

- In a very, very long surgery today. Likely 16-18 hours. Very important part of the day is music, and I'll be in the case whole time since I'm on a 24 hour shift. 3 different surgeons operating, all with very different musical tastes.

Started case, my part of things went very smoothly, so my biggest anxiety was who was going to pick music. Thank God first one to the music was the one who picked Nelly/Ja Rule pandora. Worship her. #blessed

Won't be long before I'm hankering for UK Sports, but I enjoy a little summer break. Haven't listened to KSR since April.

-Tip for Catholic Back's IG. Quit posting pics of raw chicken every other day and post your finished product instead. Learn Social Media Food posting.

The only offense that will ever "feature" Marcus Lee is one that is really, really, really shitty.

I mean, I get the before and after effect...but really, the only meat I want to see raw is a well marbled steak.
