Stacked leaderboard at Champions today, 20 players within five shots of the lead. Personally, I won't be surprised if Glover walks to the win, has now had 11 straight rounds in the 60s and only one off the lead. Did not have his A game yesterday but birdied 15 and 17 to shoot 69. Most of the others are really inexperienced rookies. Weather looks great, hoping we have a good crowd for what is likely to be the last hurrah.

Edit: maybe the rookie Normman has a chance ,has two top 10s this season and won $800K

No, and definitely no. That was about as amateurish production as I have seen. Korn Ferry gets a better TV product.
Thought Leon was terrible, I could do a better job of color commentary.

Crowd was great yesterday, and although no one seemed to want to win, you can't say it wasn't exciting. All those young guys were nervous as hell, especially on the putts, but in the end, I thought Normman deserved it.

Fun to watch.
Mardy Fish getting the guy yelling in his backswing was awful. Not a completely serious event, but a woman's hygiene product nonetheless.
Curry is a good amateur player, but there should be no talk about any of these athletes going pro in golf until they win some serious local am or professional events.

Should have been free re-tee, and of course spectator banished forever. I absolutely hate these people that yell as soon as a player swings. A lot of them are very close to yelling before the swing makes contact.

And the Barbasol new sponsor has to be Toyota, right?

Some talk (maybe wishful) to get group of liquor companies to be named sponsor for Kentucky Bourbon Trail Championship (or something similar), patterned after what Fortinet Championship in Napa Valley in September does with wine makers.

Weather Sunday through Tuesday this week looks perfect. Of course, once the tournament starts, good chance of rain nearly every day. 🤮

My choice is Bathia, the left handed skinny dude.

I was right for once (sort of), got his first PGA win yesterday in the off event in Truckee, CA. Was a great weekend for left handers, apparently. Bathia was in the pro am group I scored, kid can hit a golf ball a country mile, long even by pro standards, not surprised he won so soon.

Golf Galaxy putting a store in Hamburg. I guess Dick's is just trying to get a bigger piece of the golf equipment pie in Lex, given there are only a couple of other options in town besides them. I can't see Edwin Watts on Richmond Rd. staying afloat.

Place is always packed when I walk in there.

And only outdrove a high school girl senior by about 5 feet from the same tee yesterday. May need to take up bowling.

OT, back to rolling back the ball debate. Heard a comment from Adam Scott that made a lot of sense to me. He said the biggest change in his 20+ year career was the increase in driver size. He suggested that if you just reduced the allowable size of drivers to 360cc or something like that, problem solved without having to bifurcate the use of golf balls on pro vs. amateur. Seems like a solid idea to me. I also read where Rory was fooling around with an older wooden driver and his best shots were 60 yards shorter than what he hits his current driver. :p

I agree and I'd be all for it... but the club manufacturers are even less likely to want driver/club limitations than further ball limitations. I know Taylor Made has put out a 300cc mini driver which is actually pretty fun to hit.

Just copy professional baseball and have them use persimmon woods and leave everything else alone. That said, I like seeing these guys bomb it. It’s just these butt hurt course designers, Tour officials, etc who don’t like seeing this insanely good players rip up their course setups on a weekly basis.

Mainly, I think they're just trying to protect the integrity of the existing courses to preserve shot values for the next twenty or thirty years. As just one example, Rory played the Old Course at Saint Andrew's last year with a driver and a putter on at least 6 holes.

What did they win? LIV players are still going to have to abide by PGAT rules to re-join the tour, as JM stated. This wasn't a one size fits all, and the PGAT schedule will not change...there will still be the Heritage, Wells Fargo, Bay Hill, Memorial, etc, etc, etc.

As I correctly stated....only changes are a few dates, field sizes, and more $$$.

Interesting to see the Barbasol slot as a TBD. Evidently it is out.

Hits just keep coming for the Tour. This guy was making about 2.4 million a year. Rumor is he was sleeping with a married chick in his department. Monahan has another all hands on deck meeting this afternoon.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Andy Pazder abruptly resigned Tuesday from his role as a top PGA Tour executive, according to a memo sent to players just hours before their first formal meeting with Commissioner Jay Monahan since his return to work.

Pazder was the tour’s chief tournaments and competition officer, effectively overseeing all matters related to competition. He has been with the tour for the last 35 years.

No, not yet.

PGA tells us they like the spot and the tournament . . . but gotta get a sponsor, which is Champions problem, not PGA problem. They are talking to the Ky Distillers Association to get them to sponsor, and I was told initial response was very positive, but of course, that and $3 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Will post if I hear anything more definitive one way or the other.

You can almost hear the steam coming out of Jim Nantz's ears after and hour and a half rain delay and now extra holes. You know if just wants to scream "I don't care which one of you MFer's win but somebody win so I can get on a plane and get out of here."

They were frustrated given the radar didn't warrant that lengthy delay. But given the recent incidents the last couple of years w/ storms and lightning, they are going to err on the safe side.

So, who are the 12 USA guys going to be??? Go ahead and predict now. your team.

Im going top 10 add Fowler and Glover.

That would be two for sure picks for me. Glover hasn't missed a putt since about Derby Day, never seen anything like it by a guy his age anyway.

After that, it is a tough call, US has a LOT of good players. Might look to the team format and pick a big hitter and a great short game player to pair them up in the twosomes. But it is a crap shoot.
