GOLF thread

”The finish of the LIV tournament is moving to an app you don’t have on your phone and tv so we can bring you reruns of The Rookie, or S.W.A.T. Or whatever. LMAO!!!

Was really pulling for Jason today. Hope he can go on another run and pull in a major or 2 in the next few years. One of the ultra talented yet good guys on tour.

So happy to see him win. Echo the sentiment above. He is a great guy and has had a tough road for for 5 years. So good to see it.

I'm thinking he got a bit too big for his britches....

The reason players like him did not ever make it at the highest level is lack of consistency. The best players in the world (tour players) are consistently better players than the rest. Sure, Rory may get beat by a guy like Block for a round but Block is not going to consistently compete with Rory or other tour players for 4 days straight week after week.

Nah...too much too soon. He shouldn't have played this week and taken time to absorb the moment. He obviously can play and more sponsors will be down the road. The critics were just waiting to pounce on him which is typical. He also has $250K in the bank from last week.

Another golf trip coming up next weekend.

Arcadia Bluffs (Both Courses)

Then the following courses in Grand Rapids:

The Mines
GVSU Meadows
Pilgrim's Run

Arcadia is great. I liked the layout of the South course better than Bluffs, but they don't compare when it comes to scenery and views.

Heading to bachelor party in Dewey Beach, DE this weekend. Playing The Rookery tomorrow morning. Any one ever head up north and play this course in Milton, DE?
If so, thought? If not, F U.

^^^watching all of the teens/really old geezers/fats/golf numbnuts parade around Augusta w/ tix is teeth grinding anger.

My daughter hates when we practice chipping and putting but honestly it's the only thing from keeping her breaking into the 70's right now. Any of you guys who have or had kids that play have any suggestions on ways to make it fun. She knows the importance of it she just bores with it after an hour or so. She finds it much more fun to grab the long stick and outdrive the old geezers on the range. 😂

Put 10 balls in various spots off the green, covering all sides. Challenge her to get up and down on each, or as many as possible. Make it rewarding if she meets your/her goal. This will require both short and long chips depending on where the flag is.

For the chips/distances she had trouble with, then repeat the above from only those spots.

We have been doing something similar the last couple of weeks and if she does it in fewer tries than I do she wins something. I am going to have to reduce the value of the prize though since she usually wins. 🤷‍♂️😂

Just saw where LIV broadcast on Saturday drew an average of 3,404 viewers in the Washington DC area. Man that tour is going up like a space rocket!

Great day today at Muirfield Village. Felt bad for Rory. Saw him miss a 3 foot par putt on 13 and bounced assuming McCarthy wasn't gonna blow it.

Hovland the one birdie on 17 all day won it for him.

I have been there, that course looks HARD

Make it a game/competition. Be creative, maybe something like stymie with a group of golfers and her.

Short game is as much (if not more) confidence as is form. Maybe she needs to try different methods to different lies. From each spot have her hit 4-5 balls, 1 high pitch, 1 low pitch, 1 bump and run, 1 putt.

So how far out from cup on every hole at Augusta National would you need to be to 99% win the Master’s?
So distance and what is your handicap?

I’m a 20 (good short game, struggle w/long game), and think for me 120y.

You can go up to 100 out and I’d still take the field

I'm a casual golf on TV watcher. That par 3 12th today looks a lot like the Augusta 12th IMHO.

The 14 at Muirfield is def the one to avoid if you don't want to deal with the frat boy "Mashed Potatoes" bullshit. At least Jack is trying to get all the dbags to congregate to one place

Feel like I figured out something with my hands that was causing me all sorts of issues. I realized I was turning my right palm more open so the club would go way too far back and couldn't release through the shot to save my life.

Started to kind of cup my hands on the takeaway, which shortened up my swing a bit and now I feel I have way more control of how to release at impact. Already got a nice treat for the adjustment and holed one out from 107 last week.

Played Dye's Valley yesterday. Brutal wind all day and saw a couple shots that started out nicely just get taken by it.
