GOLF thread

The Cam Smith one hurts. He's a fun guy to watch and love his game. Be interesting to see what the PGA comes up with for the Players next year provided things stay as they are for honoring last year's winner.

If anyone tees it up in an LIV event, they are done on the PGAT.

So Cam Smith, Cam Young, Talor Gooch. Things are starting to get more interesting.
The revised OWGR points is a disaster for all but the PGA. The DP World might as well be the Korn Ferry.

Young is not leaving as of now, but things could change after the playoffs. Great rookie season, but he wouldn't be missed.

It still will be a court decision, and also what the majors decide in regards to the big carrot for the players on staying or leaving.

I fear this is mostly true. I enjoy DP in the mornings, but they have small galleries.

Not true at all. The DP Tour is very strong with a lot of financial suport. We simply don't recognize a lot of the names due to the popular players being full time PGAT.

The fix is in. Cam Smith assessed two stroke penalty almost 24 hours after the fact, four hours after start of round four.

No question he made the right choice, he won, didn't he? Can't believe it took him so long to take the drop, had no other choice, really.

Did not appreciate the obvious rooting by the TV network guys for Zalatoris, I know he has more Q appeal than Straka, but they were not even close to being unbiased.
The crowd was even worse. Yelling out every shot by Straka to go in the water, lol.

Kinda bush league like tennis fans celebrating double faults.

Tiger walked off that plane worse than Biden trying to scale a flight of stairs or ride a bike. Worse than that....Rickie let him get behind the wheel. Hopefully he wasn't stoned.

Would loved to have been a fly on the wall of that meeting, but I would guess that DL3, Rory, Tiger, Billy Ho, and a few others were more than adamant about LIV being a giant zit that needs popped.

Patrick Reed is officially done NOW....good grief.

Hey Pat, you got here all on your own.

Reed alleges, according to court documents, that Chamblee, a Golf Channel analyst, has “actively” targeted Reed to “destroy his reputation, create hate, and a hostile work environment” for the player.

Prayers to all of DFSers who had Zalatoris. A no cut event and will not be getting any points for 31 holes!

Looks desperate to me if you have to bring out cripple Tiger to rally the troops.
PGA will never be the same. Guys hate the grind. Work less, make more. No brainer.
Seven more about to leave and all seven played in the first playoff event. Cam Smith and Leishman are two of them.

Back problems suck. Especially for golfers.

Rory and Cam Smith paired together this weekend LOL. Hope Cam beats the brakes off that clown. PGA is in deep trouble and come across as the desperate ex with their every move. With Tiger basically irrelevant now when it comes to competing, I could see this LIV thing possibly working out as the names they’re attracting keep getting bigger and bigger.

"Working out" for LIV meaning what exactly? Bigger more elaborate exhibition matches? Control of all four majors? Not really kidding, besides diluting the PGA tour, what do you see as "success" as defined by LIV?

Clown show commentary, right here.

If all 4 majors allow LIV guys to play I think all bets are off. I still think Jay is going to be toast sooner or later as the tour loses more of its best/younger talent to LIV.

Jan 2024 is a long time from now (when this goes to court). However, the Saudis have more money than should be possible and can ride this out as long as they want.

Ultimately, have zero clue how this turns out.
