Looks like Marshall Co dominated the girls tournament and won their 2nd state title in a row. Of course when you have 4 girls finish inside the top 18 individually that is usually a good start.

Where did you get fitted?
Brad Hicks out at Keene Trace did mine. First time I’d been fitted. Great experience.
Seeing how the different shafts and heads made such big differences on the track man was pretty cool. I spent about an hour out there and we tried a lot of combos till we found the best one for me.

Brad is a great guy and if you want one I’d highly recommend reaching out to him.

Headed to Crossville next Thursday. Playing Bear Trace, Stonehenge, Heatherhurst Crag and Druid Hills.

BT wasn’t in the best of shape when we played it in mid-Sep. Stonehenge is Stonehenge but we were rained out after 9. Ended up closing the course right after our last 4-some finished 9.

Including Druid and the Heathers in our trip next year as we couldn’t play them last month.

A course that was in immaculate shape when we played it last month was Lake Tansi. Greens were like carpet. Might want to try that one if you guys can squeeze it in while you’re there. People are really super nice there.

Enjoy and let us know how the courses were when you get back.

Disappointed to hear about BT. It wasn’t in good shape last fall either. But that was due to a groundskeeping mistake; one of their workers used the wrong fertilizer on the greens and it did a lot of damage to 5 or 6 greens.

^ Greens were very inconsistent in their roll and condition. Think they had/have some poanna (sp) on their greens that appears to be dying off.

Some of the fairways were not in the condition we would have expected either. Guessing that being a State course, they are challenged with budget issues.

On the plus side, the food is pretty good there and the beer is always cold. 👍

I am just curious were you able to get the club that day or just find the right combo and then order from PXG?

Seneca in Louisville is having Titleist fitting days every other Thursday through November I believe. $100 to get fitted and if you buy the clubs that money goes toward the purchase.

Rory McIlroy just got his 20th career PGA tour win.

39th player to do it, which is nice but not earth shaking . . . until you read that of all the players who turned pro in the last 20 years, Rory and DJ are the only ones with 20 PGA wins. Jordan Speith has 12, but only one win in the last 4 years; and Justin Thomas has 14, but has one win in last 18 months or so.

In short, in the modern era, the PGA tour is so deep and talented, 20 wins is a hell of a career.

Agree but feel like Rory has left so much on the table. IMO, he is the best/most naturally gifted golfer of the current generation. Arguably Top 5 talent of all time. I think if he had Tiger's mentality, Rory would have won several more majors and who knows how many tournaments. That said, I respect how he has tried to live his life and not made it all about Golf.

You sound like Padraig Harrington, who claims he told Rory, "that for me, winning 3 majors was an overachievement, for you, winning only four majors would be an underachievement"

He still is only 32, hell Phil won the British at 43 and the PGA at 51, Rory (and DJ) have a lot of career left in front of them.

I really can see JT with more career wins than Rory, if both stay relatively healthy until 50. But majors, i don’t know about that. JT has yet to prove he can excel in the biggest venues like Rory has. But it’s irrelevant at this point, Rory is one of the best of all time at his age, and like y’all say, he is very likable and seems to have a good balance in his life. I can see many more wins and several more majors for him for sure.

Flea has tied with Langer atop the leaderboard on the Champions Tour. Hope he can pull it off, announcers have been suggesting he will choke it away all day.

Can you get PTSD from a round of golf? I can’t unsee what I saw on the course yesterday.

One of the guys in my group said his calf was bothering him. Another guy got on his knees and started giving him a calf rub right on the tee!

Don’t know. But if that was said to me, I’d probably say just slaughter the rascal and enjoy the tender meat.

Good lord. Please tell me what club you are a member of so I can make sure and never play there.

This week PGA in Bermuda where they require vaccine or 14 day quarantine. A lot of top players usually skips so a lot of alternate entries get in. It is also a chance for those lower on the totem pole to gain points/money while the big dogs sit out. That said, you would think some of these guys would get vaccinated when their livelihood is on the line. (This is not a vax/no vax rant). Only so many tournaments some of these guys can get into when the top guys sit out.

For what has happened to Tiger, from his rearing to his domination, is fascinating. Since we know so little about Tiger, and he lets few know what he's thinking, I doubt there's much that will be revealed in the book that we didn't already know.

Am sure Phil would love to have Tiger's accomplishments but I also bet he is very glad to be in the condition he is in now vs Tiger. No injuries of merit, winning a major at 50, winning on the Champions Tour with ease, and a little bit left in the tank for the regular tour. Do think Tiger will play on tour again and win because he is Tiger Woods, but his longevity in the game is going to be nowhere close to Phil's.

Going all-in on changing my grip to a more Ben Hogan type. Scratch golfer buddy of mine said my grip looks like absolute ass and he doesn't know how I hit the ball....LOL

Shot an 85 yesterday first time using it. Hit the ball farther off the tee and hit some good approach shots. Too bad it's end of season as I will probably forget everything by the spring.

May catch hell for the post, but give me Phil's career (total body of work life included) over Tiger's. Hear me out, Phil played the game "his" way. Cost him several wins, but he enjoyed it. Also, he has a family, and more complete overall better life. Tiger lived, eat, and breathed golf 24/7. The other things have already been mentioned. Not like Phil had a mediocre career.

Too lazy to look this up, but is Mickelson the greatest golfer of all time that never reached #1 in the OWGR?
