Max is still Max, but Lando Norris is right on his heels. That start doomed him, otherwise he gets the win. He (Norris) is a ridiculously talented driver, and well might cut the "Era of Max" short.

Agreed.He kept reacting laterally in the braking zone, everytime Norris chose a line (with DNS no less) which is a big no no.

I don’t have any issue with the penalty; Max was more at fault for the collision so he deserved it. I was more reacting to how the incident overall was being characterized. It looked like good hard racing to me, and sometimes drivers misjudge things and cause collisions when they’re racing that hard.
In my opinion, I didn't see anything that egregious but that’s just me. I thoroughly enjoyed the battle and hope this continues over the rest of the season.
It will be interesting to see how Merc and GR play out next season with the new set ups. GR will be the MAIN Man with Hamilton moving over to Ferrari.George Russell is a helluva driver. I just don't think Mercedes has their stuff dialed in. And yet, even w/o that, GR is right there, time and time again. I know Hamilton doesn't like it, but GR is D1 for Mercedes.

I’d be happy to see another dozen battles like that the rest of this season.I'd like to see Norris in the RB1 car. It's downforce to drag ratio is apparently off the charts. (The prevailing opinion is that RB designed a revolutionary "floor" for the car, that gives it absurd downforce, w/o relying too heavily on the wings (drag))
Not to say Max isn't a great driver, he is. His fellow drivers even say that he's able to reproduce lines, with minimal mistakes, that most everyone else would struggle with. And when you put him in, what is probably the most dominant car in F1 history, well, you see the results.
Still, I'm not sure that, pound for pound, Norris isn't just as good, and maybe better.
I'm hoping for a McLaren win this weekend. (I'm NOT a Max hater, I just would like to see some real competitive drama in the last half of the season)
