Damien Harris Rumors

I would also add that it is flawed to compare Bama football and UK b-ball in another sense in that Cal is not getting guys like Harris if he has a stacked team coming back. Cal gets the studs because they are probably going to start or play a ton. If he had everyone from this year's team coming back next season, we probably would not get ANYONE in the spring signing period that is a great player.

My point is, Saban has great players coming back at RB in Henry and Drake, in addition to the other young guys at RB they have. I suppose that is just a difference in football...great players may go somewhere even if they are not going to play much as freshmen. At certain positions, that makes sense, but a RB like Harris? I don't get it if he goes there.

"The Kentucky Gay"?
Sorry if I don't buy anything that a person says when their twitter name is The Kentucky Gay.

Bama media has every right to report bad news as any other media outlet.

South Carolina media was at Barker's announcement last year.

I would bet that Kentucky media will be there too.
Anything else? Unless he shows up to announce wearing crimson colored anything, I'm not concerned.

^yeah since KSR won't be there live I'd say it's plenty to worry about.
Yea I really don't understand why KSR is not gonna cover it live. Matt said himself that the Elam announcement had really good ratings, so this one will likely be even better(ratings wise). Just not buying Matt's reasons for not covering it.

He replied to my tweet and said that Harris is close to Elam and not so
much with Barker and said he was a cocky SOB. Is that true??

Again, no one is saying that Bama and Saban aren't the best. Some on here are saying he goes to UA and insures 1st round etc.. All I am saying is that UK has produced as many quality not quantity guys as Bama and you can be the number 1 pick ala Couch or first rounder etc. I would say all those top recruiting classes and great players that not many UA players turn out to be great pro's and a lot of GM's are looking the other way. There has been some big busts.

The only narrative that sticks is that UA is in a fight for NC and SEC. UK cannot say this, the other stuff evens itself out in the end. UK may be competitive in 2 years to have say in East but no UK fan is going to say NC ala the Tide.

IMO
If talking about being in the running for a NC don't forget the part where Saban spit the bit in the stretch run two years in a row! One was one of the stupidest plays of the year letting AU run back a kick and this after he had them clearly beat until he got conservative.

He replied to me and said that Harris was a cocky SOB and that he was closer to Ekam than Barker.

He also retweeted a lot of bama stuff though. Not seen much in terms of attention toor from OSU fans. Guess they've just thrown in the towel.

Bama media coming to put more pressure on him to verbal to Bama. We drove all this way so you need to verbal to us.

7 crystal ball picks to Bama today...
Never ever pay any attention to crystal ball picks. It's simply a voting contest for the uninformed.
uhh, Chris Fisher, and Drew Franklin are UK guys, and are not uninformed. If they changed their picks, it's bad news.
Uhh, you still need to remember these guys are giving an opinion like you and I. Yes they listen to and know others who like to think they know but in the end, especially when the kid is going down to the wire, its an unknown.

If you are Bama this is your trump card. They may put more defensive players in the pros but they have a pretty good history of getting RB taken high in the draft.

RB-Lacy, Richardson, Ingram

There's a vine out of him going nuts over alabama gaining a commitment. Blake Barnett kinda hits at him and walks away. Doesn't look good.

I think it's BAMA but have nothing to go on.

He said it had nothing to do with that.

It's a selling point for sure but if you dig deeper gm's and talking heads now know that Bama backs are as hit and miss as anyone. Those guys got there. Lacy is productive but they have one bust and one 'meh' in that group. Most consider the days of the Bama backs being considered high tier draft picks gone. There has been a realization those guys have overly benefitted from the play of their line in college. They also are not asked to play in space which is where many NFL teams are starting to ask their backs to play.

Regardless of what he says today, no one should rest easy until NSD. I am going to give today's announcement an 80% chance of sticking, regardless of the school named.

It's hard to finish 0-6 (some embarrassing) and land a 5-star player - if we don't hit the 6-7 win mark this year, recruiting will continue to slide I'm afraid. Stoops has done an excellent job selling his dreams and vision, but that only lasts so long - you eventually have to win.

Even being as objective as I can, I still think it's UK. Just way too many connections with the current football and basketball players; and him being a legitimate fan of the program (attending a game on crutches, etc). Given that level of interaction, Bama just doesn't make sense.

I think the crystal ball type stuff is really circular. A few analysts hear the same piece of info, change their prediction, then others see that and follow suit. Like Barker pointed out, the experts predictions were way off for him.
