Good morning folks.

Enjoyed the Derby. Always a day to feel good about being a Kentuckian. The race came off in a moderate-to-fast time. But the highly touted horses all seemed to struggle for one reason or another. We're not going to have some memorable horse emerge this year, I don't believe. The winner's chief owner hinted he may skip the Preakness. That might make sense if you realize you caught lightning in a bottle and that Mage might get buried in the pack in Baltimore.

I don't follow horse racing enough to know what is causing so many animals to get injured and have to be destroyed but I hope someone figures it out. The Derby has been a point of pride for our state and the narrative can't become that its too deadly for horses to continue.

Out for a walk. Hope you all have a good day.

Sir,

(The ortho may have already worked for you, I've used it myself. (The gallon of ortho probably set you back 20 or 25 bucks (Haven't bought in a while like that but guessing price gouging or increases.) Most work if they are labeled to kill the targeted insect. Ortho has a little too much smell for me and the efficacy is not as great as I'd like it. If you have your own sprayer, I use Tempo SC Ultra, I used to buy my product at Oldham chemical in Louisville but also bought online. Now I use; Domyown.com (Good prices and good shipping.) Haven't bought this year but bought a bunch of items last year. (Just checked the site, a bottle runs $51.56 and free shipping.) (I spray this stuff at most, twice a year. Lasts good if you take time and apply it thoroughly.) The kicker is, that is enough to make up to 30 gallons of spray. (That's how bug guys make money, or used to, they buy it concentrated and mix it themselves.) I know, more info than you may have expected, or wanted. ;)
Thanks for taking the time to answer. Costco had it on sale (7 dollars off a 2 pack in gallon containers). With the money off, it was about 20 bucks for the 2 pack (if memory serves).

Good morning all,

Heading to services in a bit. What's on tap today afterwards only the Lord knows... I do plan to chuck some stuff today for sure. Am thinking about making another pan of biscuits, the others go ate and I hoped to have some to eat at work.

My Darling and I are thinking about a king-sized bed. Will mull that over a little too. Who knows... Never owned one of those...

Have a blessed Lord's day....

Good Sunday morning here in Smiths Grove. It is partly cloudy and 76°F outside. I had to turn on the air conditioning yesterday. Maybe I won't have to switch back for heat again till fall.

I enjoyed the Derby. It is a big party. My son could to a ticket to the events on Friday except in the infield. So it is still a big deal.

Well the weather changed. We got a storm and got .66 inches of rain. It is now thundering again.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 71°F and partly cloudy. Today's high may reach 88°F.

Plan on getting in a hike this morning before starting work.

Wishing all a fine start to your week,

Coconut cream pie is in the top three of my favorite sweets and my mom made some of the best coconut cream pies known to man.

Good morning folks from cloudy Smiths Grove. It is 62.6°F on our way to a pretty warm 82°F and a 100% chance of rain. We have received 1.04" since about 11am yesterday.

The yard desperately needs mowing but with the rain it may just become a jungle. Kentucky in spring is sure a green place and grass can grow rapidly.

You all have have a good start to the week.

Morning Legionnaires!

62° this morning with light winds. High to be around 90° with mostly sunny skies.

Normal Monday morning plans. Workout and walk the monster shortly, then on to Lawton to train my student and then shop the honeydo list.

We have another mole making holes in our front yard. It happens every year in the spring. It always seems to be just one. Other homes in our area have multiple moles. Up until last year, our electricity would go out because a mole would chew the buried line and the local electric company would come out and repair it. In 2021 they decided after 3 years of repairing it they would unbury the line and incase it in PVC piping. Last year was the first year in the last 4 that the power did not got out.

Hey, you folks stay safe out there today and God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Another work Monday. By my count, subtracting Memorial Day, Labor Day, a few other annual Monday holidays and setting aside a few weeks for vacation, I have about 110 work Mondays until I hit 70 and retire. Unless I do it sooner, which feels more appealing every Monday.

An incredibly beautiful day in the east. Sunny, mild, light breeze. Had a great walk this morning and settling into the work day.

I hope it is a good day for all of you.

Come on Md, pull the trigger, the water is fine. So is the wine.

Very tempting Warrior.

I'm cautious, and feel like I may need to keep a decent income stream coming in until my kids are totally independent.

My two daughters are there -- a college teacher married to a guy with a good job and a private school teacher off to a good start. My son just graduated from UK last week and its not like the world was back in the 1970s, when there was a lot of opportunity. He's a hard worker and is already holding down a moving company job. But the future is still a bit murky for him.

Pictured below are the 6 mounds the mole dug up over the weekend. I put some poison in them yesterday and there has been no movement since. Now imagine this, but all over the front yard. There a quite a few homes in my neighborhood with it like that. Also pictured below is the monster just waiting for the chance.

Get some grub spray and treat your yard. That is what they are after....moles will infiltrate and destroy.....

That is close to groundhog or gopher size versus moles..the mounds not the Monster

Good morning folks.

My son got home from college last night —officially a graduate. I got all three through the process without any of them accruing one dollar of debt. Of course I guess that’s less of a big deal since Sleepy Joe is making taxpayers pick up college loan debt. In fact, I guess it really just makes me a sucker for saving —then spending —hundreds of thousands of dollars through the years to help my kids. But I feel good about it anyway.

Cloudy and cool in the east. Off the work. Hope it’s a good day for all.

No, it shows you have integrity and honor by doing it the way it should be done. Respect.

Good morning all,

Made good time today. Heading inside much to do with the time today.

Great to hear about the graduation!

My youngest is starting nurse practitioner school soon.

I think I am now another grandfather (6) but hasn't been confirmed.

Awaiting the news anxiously....

Have a great day and go forward with a merry heart. It doeth good like a medicine...God Bless you all!!!

Yep, my kids were covered by mom and dad also. My son graduated in 1989 and my daughter graduated in 1994. For 15 years we put back $1,100 a month for college. It was not enough, but just by good luck I got two large awards during that time that we applied to the college fund.

It is worth it as I, and my kids, are not beholding to a damned soul.

Tuesday afternoon and game night again. We have two games tonight 18:30 and 20:30. Going to stop by the store to stock up on some Yuengling for my cooler and the team shortly before the game. Enjoy your evening folks.

Making me yearn again.... Ye Ole Yuengling has a pleasing effect...

Still working but at home... Back at it tomorrow and later this evening. Have to spray some ants. Gonna get the chumps this time!!!

Back in my drinking days, I played softball for a local tavern in Paducah. We got free drinks when we won. We went undefeated one year. There used to be a pro softball league and a guy that had played for the Louisville's team, moved to Paducah and joined one of our rivals. He only played 2\3 of the season and ran away with the home run title. With 2 out in the bottom of the seventh and us with a 2 run lead, with the bases loaded we intentionally walked him. Got the next guy out for the win.

Good morning all,

Heading inside after an uneventful drive. (Thankfully)

I have blinds that arrived yesterday. I know my plan for this afternoon for at least our bedroom... Very probably my office as installing five blinds is not a big lift. Four more on the way for upstairs.....

Have a blessed day. Share your blessings. God Bless you all...

MORNING LEGIONNAIRES!

67° this morning with cloudy skies. Low 80's with thunderstorms possible in the late afternoon.

Taking one of our other dogs (another Pyrenees mix) to the vet this afternoon for ear problems. The only one of the four we have to muzzle. She does not like anyone but us and will not get near other people. We have had her for over two and a half years now and she will still not let the in-laws touch her. They come over almost every weekend and all holidays, but still she stays at a distance. She has come close to my BIL on a few occasions but, will not get near my MIL (smart dog).

Sports report: We sucked again last night as we lost both games. Just like last week though we only had 9 players and had an automatic out every time the tenth batter spot came up. First game we lost by run rule. In that game I was walked twice but did not get another at bat as the game was over quick. Second game we made it a little more competitive but fell short in the end. I went one for two with another walk. I get walked a lot because I hit well to the opposite field, so pitchers know that and try to keep me inside.

Oh well, once again get over that hill (Hump Day!). For those grinding it out and you others, be careful out there and God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Cool and overcast in the east. Very nice day.

Up late watching some NBA hoops with my son. Not my thing but good to spend time with him as he gets on his feet.

Maxey was great for the 76ers. Booker and Murray were key players for Suns and Nuggets with Jokic and Denver prevailing.

If 76ers close out Celtics (3-2) and Lakers close out Warriors (3-2) there will be a post-2012 Cat or two on all six remaining teams in the playoffs.

A little behind at work so I’ll catch up later.
