MORNING LEGIONNAIRES!

59° this morning with thunderstorms. Supposed to rain off and on for the next 10 days or so. There is a break this morning according to the radar from about 0700 until around noon so, I will forgo my morning workout and get a few hours of fishing in this morning since there will be many days of rain possible for the next few.

Well, for you that are grinding it out this morning remember, this is TGIF eve. Stay safe out there and God Bless.

Oh, and by the way, I weighed in at 195lbs this morning. Down 3lbs from Mondy last week. My goal originally was 185-190 but, I think I will adjust that to 180-185.

Not being nosey but that's a quick-loss pattern. Any secret process?

Good morning folks.

Sunny and cool in the east. Beautiful day.

Week is wearing away fast. I need to do some reading about the Derby. Got invited to a Derby party in NYC, but I’ve traveled five out of last six weekends so I’m staying home and probably watching by myself while texting with my son in Lexington.

Subway pulling into my station, so I’ll catch up with you all later.

Yeah, when I had those chest pains and high blood pressure, I adjusted my eating habits and then with the oral surgery having 3 base implants (upper right side) recently I have been limited to what I can and how I eat right now. Will have more work done after the teeth are put on the abutments which will be attached to the base in July. I have two that are going bad on the upper left that will be pulled and replaced with implants. When they first do the surgery, they do not want you to eat crunchy or chewable foods until they tell you to. Right now I can but, I have adjusted to the new diet and foods I have been eating and will continue to until all of the work is finished. After that, I will have to control my intake willfully.

Sad you had to go through it. I too have changed my eating habits. It seems every holiday my children go stupid with sweets. I never waste food and most functions are at our house. It takes me months at times to get back to my way of eating. Not blaming others but that is why. I could throw the stuff out BUT, I remember where I came from growing up in the slums of Detroit and I know what hunger is... I have my share of internal struggles...where food is concerned. (I couldn't throw edible food out if I wanted to do it. Just not in my DNA.)

Yep. In my younger days, lots of white beans and mashed tater suppers. School lunches often a mayonnaise sandwich. You always cleaned your plate.

Yeah, I have no one to blame for my current predicament but me. My wife still likes to make sweets for us and lately has adjusted to more carb friendly versions of cakes and cookies plus, she has been adding protein powder since I have also stepped up my workout regimen to help lose weight.

MORNING LEGIONNAIRES!

64° this morning with light winds. Today's high to be around the mid 90's and sunny. Ouch! Jumping 24° from yesterday. The monster (while outside as I am typing this) will not stay out long today. Being an Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees mix she has Anatolian color and size with Pyrenees fur. Thus, the monster nickname.

Read a few posts in a thread in the House of Blue last night referencing how many scholarship players we have on our basketball team right now. 7? Ugonna and Thiero returning, plus the 5 incoming freshmen. Wow. Now there was talk about the possibility of Reeves and Oscar coming back but, I don't think that is really known for sure or not. If not, Cal needs to step it up in the transfer portal. I don't think I have ever experienced as much uncertainty about the program (other than the Gillispie years) as we have recently with Cal's leadership. Yes, there were some down years in the past, but even Tubby did not sink us this low.

Well, TGIF for you grinders so, stay safe out there and God Bless.

Oh and yeah, only one bass yesterday so once again in the last two attempts I was not blanked.

Good morning folks.

Absolutely beautiful spring day in Washington. Just got my hair cut out on my back deck and was marveling at how green and crisp everything looked in the morning sunlight.

Glad to be near the end of the work week, and especially glad to have no trips I HAVE to take this weekend. May spend some time down in DC as the city can be really lovely this time of year. Or maybe I'll drive up into the mountains northwest of Frederick.

Hope the basketball Cats get some good news today, but it may be a while yet before things shake out.

Have a good day everyone.

Man I hurt. Hip falling off if not for the meat around it. Took Tylenol and Diclofenac, waiting on the results... Almost ready to crack the Spiced Rum!

Edit, no rum. Pain is still there but lessened. I am thankful.

All have a good evening. (I did get to eat me biscuits this morning.) That was a delicacy for me. First time in the new home....

Morning Legionnaires!

Yes, I am going fishing this morning. Was going to go tomorrow but my washing machine went belly up yesterday so, we ordered a new one from Lowes and they can't deliver until tomorrow. Leaving here shortly with great expectations since the weather hit 94° yesterday and will have warmed the water up enough I hope to get them moving.

Later folks and God Bless.

The day started out cloudy and now it is sunshine. No rain yesterday as promised. It is 62°F on our way to 77°. I hope it is a nice sunny day for the Derby.

King Charles got crowned this morning. We fought two wars to not be part of the British Monarchy; however, a bunch of Americans go bonkers on anything royal. GEEZE.

You all have a good Derby day and please don't mess up your good bourbon with mint et.al. The only way to improve bourbon is a few cubes of ice.

Good morning folks.

Kentucky Derby Day. The only one I attended was 50 years ago with Secretariat. Somewhere I have an un-cashed two dollar win ticket. Paid like $2.19. Maybe a bit more.

I need to get caught up on who is even in the field this year. Been traveling so much it snuck up on me.

Speaking of sneaking up, I was sure tomorrow was Mother's Day so I sent my mother a giant plant and flowers arrangement for her front porch, which will arrive today. I guess I'll have to think of something else for Mother's Day.

Here's the only Rolling Stone song to mention the Kentucky Derby, in the Townes Van Zandt version I like better.

Well, I'm back from fishing. Started getting hot out there already. The score?
Warrior-cat 3-Largemouth bass 4. I hooked 7 but could only land 3. The others either spit the hook out or wrapped themselves around a structure and got me stuck where I could not get them in. Had around 10-12 strikes in all this morning. Nothing big enough to write home about though. The biggest was about 3lbs. None-the-less, an enjoyable outing. A couple of other anglers (soldiers new to Sill as I found out) also pulled in a couple. I gave them some pointers on some other ponds to visit as they intend on fishing a lot while they are stationed here.

The fishing should start to pick up now. stay tuned.

@blubo Bad boy, bad boy, whatchugonnado, whatchugonnado when you can't post too. They released me from a 3 week or so ban about a month ago for calling shin a perv. Truth hurts I guess.

All I ever did was post a picture of the Presidential Library when O was leaving the presidency...

Plenty of coffee this morning (With half and half.), good bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, and grits. (Went to a Men's meeting. (About twenty five or so men there.) My first time attending.) Had my Grandson's first soccer game at 10. Watched my grandson and grand daughter while My Darling and the two daughters went to eat. (I ran them around the house six or seven times (The grand children) and fed them dinner. (Mac and cheese)

Getting ready in about an hour to go mow my daughters lawn. All that is left to do, and spray for ants as well... No leisure days on my horizon. No concern at all by anyone... I am thankful...

That's spay the aunts and neuter the uncles. Come on man, drink more coffee.

Is the Ortho home defense a good insect spray? For ants? Bought some at Costco yesterday.

Sir,

(The ortho may have already worked for you, I've used it myself. (The gallon of ortho probably set you back 20 or 25 bucks (Haven't bought in a while like that but guessing price gouging or increases.) Most work if they are labeled to kill the targeted insect. Ortho has a little too much smell for me and the efficacy is not as great as I'd like it. If you have your own sprayer, I use Tempo SC Ultra, I used to buy my product at Oldham chemical in Louisville but also bought online. Now I use; Domyown.com (Good prices and good shipping.) Haven't bought this year but bought a bunch of items last year. (Just checked the site, a bottle runs $51.56 and free shipping.) (I spray this stuff at most, twice a year. Lasts good if you take time and apply it thoroughly.) The kicker is, that is enough to make up to 30 gallons of spray. (That's how bug guys make money, or used to, they buy it concentrated and mix it themselves.) I know, more info than you may have expected, or wanted. ;)
