Happy Friday folks. Got to work early and did some hard stuff and hope to cruise the rest of the day.

Could be an interesting weekend with reports circulating that Biden will bow out by Sunday -- maybe. I'll resist any comment except for the Politics thread other than to say it is pretty amazing that just a little over a month ago he dared Trump to debate him with that "C'mon. Make My Day" video. Strange times we live in.

Hope you all have an easy glide into the weekend.

It was a shocking 64°F when I got up this morning. We are supposed to get to 85° this afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday night we got a combined 1.93" of rain. In July that is always a big gift.

@MdWIldcat55 I am very political but I stay off the political board as I do not have enough discipline to not be banned. The other day Joe said he was in better physical shape than Trump even though Trump plays golf all the time. Joe is afraid of the truth and rarely even understands what the truth is.

Today is climate change Sir, not global warming. Just an FYI.... ;)

Oh and Sir. Joe doesn't know he is in the world most of the time till they dope him up....

Went fishing on Sunday and ran into a man who works with my wife. He started out with 4 or 5 catches before my first. His were smaller than mine because he was using small lures but, was pulling them in hand over fist. He was also using a different color lure than I was. Plastic worm about 4" long and was watermelon green with a chartreuse tail. Another guy I went fishing with a couple of weeks back was also using the same size and color bait as him. Both dusted me in the number of bass caught, but they were smaller in size. My plastic worms are 7 1/8" long and I use black/red and blue metal flake colors mostly. Has been working for me for the past few years. Although, I did find a plastic swimming frog of maroon top and a chartreuse belly in my tacklebox and starting using it. Got several hits and a couple landed with it so...

However, I went to Academy this morning and picked up some of those smaller worms the same color they were using, and I am going fishing again tomorrow morning to test it out. In my best Paul Harvey impression; "Stand by for News!"
My buddy only fishes one lure......a 4" black trick worm hooked in the middle......no matter where we go.......he only carries a small tackle box......I have my boat so full of lures that I have new ones thrown on the floor in boxes......my bays are full........he catches as many fish as I do......I like pulling different things......I just got a 9" trout lure with four sets of treble hooks.....I am going to replace them with some nice Mustad treble hooks.....

Bob Gibson said he NEVER let his kids win. He HAD TO win. The last MLB homer he gave up was to some so so player whose name I can't recall. He never faced him again till an old timers game years later. First pitch, he nails him with a fast ball.

Just re-read this again. I never need to win unless I have to, If I have to, then I will win. (I know I have had them but I don't remember a time I needed a must win and didn't get it. Mostly geared to winning for my family.) I have a killer instinct but not to the level Gibson had. If I need it I can still pull it out (So far...)

I was hoping he would stay the course because Trump would have easily beaten him this time imo.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 75°F and partly cloudy. Today's high may reach 96°F.

Plan on cleaning up around here a bit after breakfast. Must drop by post office later this morning to send off a few Icelandic treats for daughter.

Wishing y'all an awesome day.

Good afternoon folks.

weather has moderated a bit. Made my morning run a lot easier. Just got back from doing some chores for my MIL. Putting some chairs together and taking some others back to UPS.

My wife then came in from cleaning the back deck yelping from two wasp stings. The SOBs had built a nest under the deck. I threw on a long sleeve shirt, got the wasp spray and a rake and obliterated the nest. Big win for MD…

Hope it’s a good day for everyone.

They sue people in your area for killing wasps you non-Karen you (In my best Archie Bunker voice.) Hope your wife is okay.

I've been blessed this summer with no yellow jacket stings. Two wasp stings. I've "located" at least 5 yellow jacket nests mowing, weedeating, working around the house but escaped without a sting. I take great pleasure pouring a little old gas down the hole after dark and lighting them up. I despise them more than anything.

I was in the bug business for almost 20 years. Nothing I liked better than nailing a hornets nest. In all that time I was only stung once. Even then for some strange reason I reached out to swat it and it stung me on my knuckle. To this day that knuckle is slightly deformed...

Good morning from ATX. Currently 77°F and partly cloudy. Increasing rain chances after lunch. Today's high may reach 92°F.

Hee hee. Near upset yesterday during USA Showcase vs South Sudan Team USA survived 101-100.

Heading out for another walk after bit.

Wishing y'all a peaceful Sunday.

Good Sunday morning everyone

I missed church last week while at the lake with BIL's and looking forward to the service this morning. I can't think of anything that's on the "to do" list after church. I've really enjoyed the last couple of days with the cooler weather and the on/off rain.

We had our great, great niece with us for a couple of days. It puts me and my wife in a much better mood. I'm still walking and hiking not as much as in June) but my eating is not healthy right now and the scale is creeping back up. I need to get that back in check since we have a couple of longer hikes planned at the end of Aug. at the end of Sept.

I hope to get back to posting some wildlife pics. We had a bear visit a couple of times Wed. evening.

Enjoy your Sunday.

I was stationed near Izmir at the foot of the Taurus mountains. Some of us would do an occasional hike into the mountains. Beautiful scenery and you would normally see a camel caravan or two. Another time, we went way up in the mountains For a week or so on a mission. the villages had no electricity and we would see sheep herders with their flocks and dogs. At night you would hear the wolves howling.

Good morning folks. A hot sunny day in the east.

I decided not to go to the Reds-Nats game last night in DC, it was drizzling a little and I wasn't feeling it. Reds blew a lead late, so just as well. I'm close to a boycott until they get rid of crushing mediocrity at manager David Bell. He's a dumb ass with managing the pitchers and his flat affect with loss after loss ('we came up short today') just infuriates me.

Lovely day for a little light yard work, and a walk in the woods. Have a good one folks.

I was raised on a farm and never got stung by a hornet. I move to Louisville and got stung by one the first week. I am allergic to them big time and had to carry around an epipen for years. After 24 years of taking allergy shots I finally got rid of the epipen.

It is 79°F here and we are supposed to 84° with a small chance of rain.

I hope that was a calm time during your service so you could enjoy it somewhat. I think I'll just stick with the Appalachian mountains.

Funny story from Saturday, we went to see the movie Twister, as we were walking out there is a couple setting to the side, he young man was wearing an Arkansas t-shirt, I saw a guy with a Kentucky shirt on, he walks up to the young man and says, I just want to thank y'all from the bottom of my heart for taking coach cow off our hands, we really appreciate it!!! As we walked away, both of them were laughing and shaking hands!!

Like anything, there was both good and bad. I'm glad I was there though. It was a great chance to see and work with another culture and to see how good we have it here. In line with your old job, there was a lot of wild boar there. The big shots were always visiting and playing war games so they could go hunting.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 76°F and partly cloudy. Rain expected later this afternoon. We may not exceed 87°F at all today, which is fine with me.

Monday, Monday.... Wishing y'all an outstanding day.

@cordmaker : Here we are coming into Newark early evening March 16. Look closely and you can see Freedom Tower NYC just behind wing tip.

Good morning folks.

Hot and muggy in the east. Just finished a longish run and I’m sitting on my back porch eating a slice of ice cold watermelon. What is better than that first bite of a perfectly sweet and crisp watermelon when you are overheated and dehydrated.

Gotta get ready for a long work week. Hope all is well with you folks.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 74°F and cloudy. Good rain chances later this morning.

Found an iPhone yesterday during my walk. T-Mobile is carrier. Language en Español. Drop it by local T-Mobile dealer later today after chemo.

Olympics opening ceremony Friday. Some events, such as Rugby and Soccer, start preliminary play today. Go USA!

Chemo at 9:45 am.

Wishing y'all a good day.

Ground beef at Icelandic supermarket (Nettó) goes for roughly $10 / lb.

Good morning folks. Cloudy and incredibly muggy in the east.

Strange days we are living through. Less than two months ago Biden put out a brash, sneering video daring Trump to “make my day” with an early debate. Now he’s staring off into space in his Delaware basement, dreaming of taking down CornPop in the pool parking lot while Hunter googles Countries with No Extradition and tries to cut a bulk deal with Motel 6 for his “art work.”

I’ve noticed the days already getting slightly shorter during my morning walks. But still lots of summer ahead. Hope you guys are enjoying it.

G-day!

Went fishing this morning at a pond (lake size so pond is not a good measure) that I have only gone to 2 times at Ft Sill with each time yielding nothing. I was bank fishing those first 2 times with not a whole lot of bank accessible. This time I was in the kayak. Only got 4 strikes but hooked all 4 of them and landed them so... Warrior-Cat 4 -- Largemouth Bass 0.

There was a lot of grass covering at least half of the lake/pond. Ran frogs over the grass and weedless worms through it. Caught the bass on the worms. Water was clear and I could see many little bass all over the place. that bodes well for the future.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 74°F and cloudy. Slight chance for showers. Our high may reach 88°F today. Received a good soaking rain yesterday. Loving this weather.

Got another MRI scheduled for October 1st. May come sooner. So far everything stable.

Happy Hump Day, y'all.

My buddy's other house in the Haverhill, MA area. Presently occupied. Built around 1740. He and his wife live next door. Amazing history up there.
