D-League

@Bert Higginbotha : Stopped at new Buc-ee's around 4 pm. Tried calling my cuz and service kept disconnecting. Went over to liquor store. Talked to gal in there who said cell service is horrible since it opened.

Buc-ee's fudge is best I've every had.

Plan on driving past there at 4:00 am tomorrow morning for gas..
It has not impacted my cell phone service, but the traffic has increased for sure. Safe travels Austin.

Rainy and 74°F on our way to 88°F. My rain gauge is set for an event. So the current even began yesterday morning when we got .33" then last night we got up to 1.02". This morning we got an additional inch and it is currently sitting at 2.02". We can used every drop of it.

You all have a good Friday.

Are boxers now like boxers then? (I do not and have not watched...)

This is Leonard-Hearns 2...

I mean Duran, Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard...

I never saw anyone. Anyone and I mean anyone who had another gear in boxing like Sugar Ray Leonard. I was a Tommy Hearns fan coming out of Detroit too. (Not sure about this outcome though...)

Some pics from yesterday on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay...

The second year we spent July forth at our friends home. We met them while we were in Korea from 2012 to 2015. (They come to our house for winter events)

This is on his dock. (His feet) Only a couple crab below when he checked later in the day but his earlier catch was dropped into the pot kicking, slashing, and fighting....

Enjoy your days today...

Good afternoon D-Legionnaires!

A lot of rain between last night and this morning. Pictured below is the stream from the side of my house to the front of the shop, front of the shop, and around the side of the shop. Needless to say, the shop is flooded.

God's promise. Good thing he promised, otherwise I would need a bigger boat.

Well, I tried something different this time and they still will not show. Try clicking on them to see if they do.

May have something to do with the settings you or the site enable on that site...

Oh, an update: When I hit reply to your message and could see the pictures I clicked on the pictures and got no message like what I posted above. Just gave me options to save or copy the pictures...

Are the other stations on the other side being affected badly?
That was the first that I heard of the problem. I even tried using my apple phone as a hot spot to watch streaming TV and it works fine. It may be tied to one specific carrier, I don't know. I have an I phone and AT&T.

I am less than a mile from Bucee's.

Are the other businesses being hurt badly by the opening of Bucees’s.

YUM! And I'm not talking about that BB arena in Louisville.

Good morning from Haverhill, MA. Currently 73°F.

Old Army buddy done really good for himself. He owns a couple houses, including one built in 1740. Proud of him and haooy for him and his wife.

Ate fish and chips last night. Amazing. Jumping on a bus bound for Logan soon.

Y'all have an awesome day.

Let-s-Go-Fishing.gif

66° this morning with very light winds. Low 90's expected for a high.

Going to go fishing this morning with the Kayak. light winds expected so it should be a good day. We shall see. Last fishing day Wednesday yielded nothing. A retired Colonel and I Kayaked at the same pond I am going to today and he caught 5 while I was blanked. He used small lures and only caught bass no bigger than a pound while I used the bigger lures to get nothing. May try smaller today if the larger ones don't produce.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks and God Bless.

@AustinTXCat Stay safe out there and enjoy.

Good morning everyone.

I hope all is well and prayers for those here that need them (everyone). Happy Belated Birthday @BBUK. I was trying to catch up but have fell behind again. Those crabs looked great. I about foundered the last time I got into some blue crabs.

I finally got some of our trail cams back out and checked the one up on the hill above the house. Bears, bucks, does, fawn and a bobcat but none of the pics were very good. Shelia was able to watch a bear here Wed. morning for a while as I was driving to Lexington. No problems out of them since we were at the lake about 6 weeks ago.

A little rain here yesterday but not enough. Between the lack of rain and the critters our first time in decades garden isn't much. Looks like the Farmers Market and Food City will be our goto this year.

Going to walk about 4 or 5 miles this morning at the walking trail through town. I hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon folks.

Got a late start to my Saturday run, which meant I was jogging into the teeth of the hear and humidity. Taking it easy now until I feel hydrated, watching a bit of the Euro Cup game between England and Switzerland. I will admit that soccer has grown on me a bit through the years, especially when it’s at the Euro or World Cup level.

Getting my second wind. Need to do a bit of yard work. Have a great Saturday.

Morning Legionnaires!

75° this morning with a high in the low 90's expected for the day. More rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow.

Did my normal walking of the monster early this morning (6 am) but like yesterday and the day before, it was short. She has been tired last few days due to the fireworks that have been going off all weekend from Thursday to last night. The other three mutts cower in the house while the monster is out with us in the back yard charging the direction of the bursting firework. She goes to the fence and bounces on her front feet like a bear all the while growling and barking. She is just wore out the next morning. She is fun to watch though as she knows it is her job to keep us safe.

Enjoy your Sunday folks and God Bless America.

Good morning everyone.

Off to go hiking at Mt Mitchell, NC (highest point east of the Rockies....6684 ft (I think). It's 45 degrees there now and expected high of 59. :D

I worked all day at the hunting property yesterday have to go to Lexington bright and early tomorrow morning and then back to the regular life at home during the holiday.

I hope everyone has a great day.
We lived not to far from Mt. Mitchell, NC when we first got married.......almost had to have a mule to get to the house.......

Hey, Md, do you know they just reopened Mary Ingles all the way from River Road into Dayton/Bellevue? Closed for 5 years due to road sliding down to the river. $9M in repairs including rail line. I haven't been on it yet. Don't get over there much anymore.

We pretty much need a mule right here in E. KY. Driveway is a steep 300'. But it now has nice blacktop so it is reasonable unless it has snow/ice.

We're going back to the Burnsville area to hike Mt. Mitchell State Park for my 60th B-day. This time we will be hiking the crest of 6 mountains....all over 6,000 ft. The Deep Gap trail (I think) but it's unofficially called the Death March. We plan to go out and back about 7 miles up and down total.

Good morning from Akureyi, Iceland. Currently 37°F and partly cloudy. Today's high expected around 58°F.

Saw a couple nice old-timer American cars yesterday driven by locals -- '69 Camaro and '70 Dodge Challenger. Pristine condition.

Gasoline here costs roughly $9.15 / gallon. Not cheap.

Staying near the top of a hill. Climb from down below is brutal. Good exercise.

Wishing y'all an awesome day.

Good morning D-League. Absolutely beautiful day in the east—clear, cool, low humidity.

Finishing my Monday morning walk. It is a short work week for me. On Thursday my wife and I are flying to Kansas City to see my older daughter the KU professor and of course my grandkids.

Need to get some stuff done early today and my brain feels like Joe Biden’s —okay I exaggerate to make a point, but I do need some coffee. Have a good day.

I was looking at the new Buc-ee's on the satellite map........it appears like they have created a very nice liberation spot for my birds in Smith's Grove........

Our mailing address was Burnsville.......we lived out on 19-25W along the Cane River.......got me a nice spot up on a hill to get planted.......

Good morning folks. Already oppressively hot and muggy in the east at 6:30am.

Got my son to the airport in Baltimore yesterday and he’s back in Texas. Flying out Thursday morning to see my older daughter and grandkids in Kansas City. I’ll have seen enough of airports for a while by the time we’re back from that trip.

From July 4 to Labor Day is one of my least favorite times of the year. Really don’t like the wet blanket of humidity we’re wrapped in, at least in DC. Ah well, this will pass. Have a great day folks.

Thanks VHCat. I guess I just missed that on my visit a couple weeks ago. It was definitely still blocked then. I make that left turn just where the road was blocked to go up what we called Ft. Thomas Hill to get to the exchange right near where the Beverly Hills Club used to be to start my drive home. I-471 connects there. Next time I’m home I’ll cruise down to Dayton and Bellevue along Rte. 8 (Mary Ingles.)
