Good morning from ATX. Currently 29°F, cloudy and windy. Today's high may not get above freezing. Colder temperatures on the way.
Wife convinced me I should change dates on today's trip to Florida. Now leaving next Saturday and returning January 28. She's worried about incoming weather.

Warrior, that was a funny post about me freezing on my walk yesterday, and applies even more today. It was 9 degrees when I headed out at 530am and a stiff wind in my face. Windchill had to be 15 below.
Tough loss for the Cats yesterday but I really wasn’t too angry about it. Killed by rebounding and still need lots of work on defense. But lots of fight and clutch shooting in regulation.
I actually figured this might be a loss. Texas A&M has a bunch of those 24 year old six year players, it’s always been a tough place to play, and I figured theyd so far over their heads it’d be ridiculous.
Dont forget the 2015 Cat team that started 38-0 went Double OT before winning a really lucky game down there.
Back on the road for an 8-hour drive, part of it through the icy mountains of West Virginia.

4° this morning with gusting 10-20mph winds which makes it much colder. Still dark out so I will wait until light to walk the monster. Definitely will bundleup (yeah I know it is two words but, it's cold this morning and even mywordsneedbundling). 14° for a high today with gusty winds.
Two non-competitive football games yesterday. Hopefully today's games will be more entertaining.
Taking down Christmas decorations today since wife has tomorrow off and can rest up before going back to work.
Not much else going on this morning other than waiting for the light of day with inside temp at 60° as I just turned the heat up to prepare for my wife and daughter to get up. I Keep it low to help me sleep better at night.

It was 5° when I took the monster for a walk at around 0830 this morning and the wind was blowing somewhat but not as much as now. Got back and it was still not 70° in the house even though I had turned the thermostat up to 70 at 0530 this morning from 60. Then I realized by listening to the intake vents that they were struggling a bit and remembered that I was supposed to change the filters in December so, I just finished doing that about 30 minutes ago and we are now up to 69° in the house. As I was typing this the temp changed to 70.
What a difference clean filters make.
Had a minor accidental basement flooding issue in long term storage area. That sent DW into a clean everything out rampage. Been at it since & am worn out. Good news is the house has risen 2" above that flood plane.

Green Bay put it on Dallas yesterday even though the end score made it look closer than it really was. That seems to be Dallas in recent years with Prescott under center. I have a buddy (Big Dallas fan) from my softball team who was at the game. I texted him at the half and ask him "who was the quarterback for Dallas today, Paul Crew?" He answered, "looks like it." He built his new house a few years ago in a Dallas Cowboys theme. His 2019 F150 is a signature Dallas Cowboy truck. Just about everything he has is of the Cowboys theme. No doubt he will be hung over this morning.

Slow work day today -technically off but some stuff to catch up on. Took a long walk with some intermittent jogs of about a kilometer in between as I try to get back to where I can run a bit. Slippery, but managed not to fall.
My wife is still in NYC, caring for an aunt with cancer.

Snow amount to about 5 inches here in Middle Tennessee in my area. Roads are bad. Stay safe.
About 2" of snow here and this morning it got down to 12°F and has now warmed up to a very balmy 14°. We are to have a really cold week here in South Central Kentucky.

Dog got off the lease this morning. Got under the truck and maneuvered until got it to come off. He’s out running. Maybe he comes back. I’ve got a l love hate relationship with that dog. Belongs to my Grandson. He needs to come get it.

Internet out. It’s the router. They say they’ll have someone come out. With road conditions I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.
Turned the sill cock off so it wouldn't freeze......managed to forget to open the hose so the water could drain......freeze proof sill cock is frozen.....fortunately when I remodeled I put a shut off just inside the freeze proof sill cock.........this is my first time in a long while to draw attention to my ineptness........when it warms up I will have to get a new one........and crawl under the house and fix it....

7° this morning with moderate winds. It has risen about 2° since Saturday & Sunday morning. Wind chill factor has been in the subzero range. Gloves I have used when walking the monster have not kept my hands warm enough until yesterday morning. I found my old arctic mittens I had in the Army, and they worked like a charm. Toasty warm.
Had a dream last night that they needed volunteers to help the Army go to Israel in 30-day rotations and support the IDF. Not enough room in the seated area for me and some others so, we traveled in the cargo hold until I woke up. Weird dream.
Not much going on today so...lazy days and Sundays I guess.

Up at 530 so I could shovel the walk and the driveway. My wife is getting back from nyc some time today and didn’t want her trudging through snow to get in the house.
Glad to see the Steelers and Eagles go down yesterday. Take that, Pennsylvania. Maybe next time don’t elect a senator who makes Joe Biden seem like he has all his marbles by comparison (okay, not the politics threads. Sorry.)
Subway is empty today. I suppose the federal workers are all taking a snow day. DC might as well be Atlanta or Charlotte when it comes to dealing with snow.

We have about 2 inches or so. Here are some shots from yesterday around my house (note these were taking through glass and I was not getting out).

We have about 8" of snow about 1/2 way up Pine Mountain in eastern KY. I think it has now quit so I'll get out in a bit and plow it again with the side x side. My driveway is 300' and very steep. I had to back the S x S down the driveway once yesterday when I got stuck pushing snow uphill. I also plow about 1/2 mile of county road.
The birds will also be happy when they see me outside. More food and cleared off places to stand.
I hope everyone has a great day and the pipes don't freeze.

At my daughter's place back in the Ridges. They got snowed in.

Told my daughter just now and she said you guys need to donate some of that to us.
Come and get all you want. Even though this is light snow it's still heavy to push or shovel. I don't mind it if it would melt pretty quick after plowing but when it's this cold I can't plow it all the way down to the blacktop and it will be ice until next Monday. Happily retired with all the supplies needed so we'll just stay up here on the hill.

Gloomy days. Heard from a good buddy who had moved out to western Montana after our days working together were over. He’s back to bury his brother who died at age 59.
My wife got back from NYC last night. Her favorite aunt who she is trying to help through an illness is hanging in there for now. Not much else happening besides work.
Go Cats. It would be nice to see the team get back on track against a tough MSU team.
