Good morning folks.

Cold and clear in the east. Great morning for a walk, which I took before heading in on the subway.

Feeling good enough -far enough past my COVID - to make my trip to Kentucky tomorrow. My daughter is going with me.

Grinding out my last work day for the week. Nothing else to report so I’ll wish you all well and catch up later.

My wife just informed me that she got word from the government side that her job (with military contractor) is probably going away. Her boss was pissed that she was told because he did not want her to know yet. Afraid she would start looking for another job, I guess. No timeline as of yet so... that would be a hit of 74K a year. She is only 50 years old and cannot draw SS at this time and would have to find another job. Not many like that one that pays that good around here. I told her if push comes to shove I would go back to work.
Let's hope probably isn't. Best to you both. 50? She's just a kid.

Good morning everyone

Well we learned that we can go to a tough place on the road and not play our best or shoot our best and still WIN! I'll take it.

Your all's dog talk has me missing mine. I use to raise chocolate labs and the best things (simple) I learned about training is to take them from the litter at 49 days. Not sooner or later. Then the next step is to spend all the time you can petting, talking, teaching them their name, From day one go on plenty of walks and let the pup keep up. When it falls behind let it catch up and pet, etc. Make it more difficult as time goes on. After that the rest becomes easy.

My last lab died almost 12 years ago. We now have a bird. lol Most spoiled critter I've ever been around. Mostly our fault though.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
I raised Yellow Nape Amazon, Double Yellow Head Amazon and African Gray Parrots...............birds are hormonal......they can and will bite the devil out of you if given the chance........I have the scars to prove it.......in my mind the most dangerous pet there is........would be a hand fed parrot.......they have no fear of people........I raised a bunch of them........I am not a good salesman..........

Same for me when out with wife and daughter shopping. Wife can go for hours. Most of the time when we go out, it is to eat and do some light shopping because my wife knows I cannot handle more than an hour or so. I have a limit on how long I can take shopping and when I hit it, I simply tell her I have hit the wall, and she knows what that means. To her credit she will finish up quickly knowing that the grump would be there soon, and she does not like the grump. If she is in the mood to shop for a long time, she tells me beforehand, and I don't go with her. My daughter is more like me when it comes to that.
It doesn't take a whole bunch of walking around stores to make my lower back flare up........I go if asked but the Director likes to linger and wander around.........I shop with purpose and go home......she likes to look around to "see" what she needs...........

Still no word on Big Z. I think by the time they get him cleared (if) it will be too late in the season to get him in fluid into the system and team.

You're probably right. I do get a fuzzy he wants to play.

Y'all talking about losing interest in sports.........I haven't watched 10 minutes of basketball in the last three years......I read about the UK games and follow them online................the core of my existence doesn't revolve around UK Basketball like it once did.......I usually check the score three or four times during a game......go over to the other board and check out the train wreck......the reffing is what keeps me from watching any longer......

Good morning everyone

I survived the shopping trip with my wife. Actually everything went pretty good. We were able to check out 3 "health" stores to see if we could find some things that would work with her allergies. One was pretty successful. We ended up in Johnson City, TN (about a 2 hour drive). That's the nearest bigger town to us. Lexington, Charleston, WV and Knoxville, TN are about 3 hours away.

Cats looked great the first ten minutes (on pace to score 125) then held on the rest of the way. Mitchell played awesome. We really need Thiero back for the toughness. Edwards is what he has shown us. If Thiero comes back I'd give Edwards 10 minutes max. My biggest worry as UK82 says is defense. We have some bad players on that side of the court.

It looks like winter is on it's way. I hope everyone has a great day.
I just saw this.....we started taking Quercetin with Bromelain. We have tried two or three brands but the Whole Foods is the best......we get it from the Amazon Whole Foods Store. It isn't the end all, be all.......but it sure does help. I like anything that is organic that I don't have to see a doctor to get it. We have been using it for about three years.....It really, really works!

A story for the baseball fans. I was reading about Walker Cooper. He was a catcher for the Cardinals, Giants and Braves in the early 40's through much of the fifties. Was an All Star seven years out of eight at one point and was in the Army in WW2 in the year he didn't make it. Because of his strength, he was called Muley. It is said when a hitter tried to steal a sign, he would spit tobbaco juice on their sock and say, "What are you going to do about it?".

Good morning everyone.

I'm trying to get back "in shape"....both diet and exercise. Yesterday I attended my great, great niece's (the one we keep at least once a week) 3rd BD party with pizza, cupcakes, and my favorite DORITOS. Today it's a fish fry at my BIL's. Dang it's tough.

@AustinTXCat We love our Nissans. We've had them over 30 years now and all have done great. Frontier Pro4X and a Rogue is what we have now.

@awf What does that Q with Brom help you with? We are bird fanatics now. We never would have dreamed that she (our cockatiel Daisy) would change our life the way she has. She goes everywhere with us.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 59°F and windy. Gusts hitting 40 MPH. Cold front moving in.

Replaced battery in our Nissan Frontier Desert Runner yesterday. $289. Filled with gel rather than acid. Performed all the work myself.

Happy Friday, y'all.

Oh, I thought you stated you filled it with gas..then You stated you did it yourself.

Readying to say...that was some serious Bovine flatulence.....

Good to hear.

Since 1998, we've owned 7 new Nissans: 4 Sentras, 2 Frontiers, and 1 Rogue. 2013 Frontier Desert Runner only driven 30,000 miles. 2019 Rogue, just 10,000 miles. When traveling, I usually rent.

My second car was a used 1977 Datsun B-210. Mom purchased new. She sold to me. Owned from 1979-1983. Sold to my father before I transferred over to Germany. Drove it 90K miles over 4 years. He ended up selling for $1,500. I changed oil religiously.

You undoubtedly remember the old days before Cumberland Gap Tunnel opened. I purchased a used 1980 Datsun 200 SX for a $1,000. Drove up to KY. Starting near National Park exit in Middlesboro, 200 SX could hit 80 MPH in 4th gear just before topping the mountain. Really quick car. Previous owner rebuilt motor. Drove often between KY and FL for *ahem* business purposes.

I also owned a used 1987 Sentra 1997-2000. Driven twice between KY and ATX. Automatic trans. Decent car, but under-powered Sold it to a neighbor across street who later sold in Mexico.

My daughter currently owns a 2011 Altima. She purchased used 4 years ago with 90K miles on odometer. Now the car has over 180K miles. So far, so good.

Our experiences with Datsuns and Nissans have been outstanding. Primary reason for a new battery (3rd) is because we drive the Frontier so seldom.

OT, I walked that train tunnel I cannot tell you how many times over to the Y from the Gap and vice-versa....

The Q helps with allergies....my wife uses it also and it helps her allergies.......for arthritic pain we take Serra Peptase. Everyone that has tried the Q reports relief from allergies after just a day of taking it....when I start sneezing I take two and then take them as directed on the bottle.....(3 a day)

Beautiful cinnamon pied! They are extremely good talkers......seems like if they do much whistling before they mimic words they don't talk a bunch......I had a lutino that I raised from an egg.........Squeaky free flew around outside.........

My wife's biggest allergy is bleached flour and anything "modified"....corn starch, etc. It chokes her up and is getting progressively worse. Also allergic to dairy (intestinal issues), eggs (sniffles) and dogs, cats, and..........birds lol. She's not too concerned about anything except the first stuff. She thinks it may kill her one day.

Our cockatiel is a female and pretty much just whistles. She free flew outside once. We were taking Christmas packages out she got out. Inch of snow and 30ish. It took about an hour to find her. We now trim her a little before our big trips, but allow her to fly around the house during this time of year. She can be a pain during this time.

Spent an hour on the treadmill at a decent clip. Everything went OK except my bladder endurance needs a lot of work.

Saying hello from my parents’ house in Campbell County.

My mother is hanging in there. Her spirits seem high and she’s alert and moving pretty well. We will just have to see how long that can last. Dad is not very mobile but he’s still sharp and keeping his sense of humor.

My daughter came with me. We left the DC area around 6am, and drove through torrential rains and high winds for the last six hours.

I hope the Cats can get a win tomorrow. Will help to lift spirits here, as across all big blue nation.

I remember making that drive from MD to KY years ago and the weather you could get in western MD.

Morning Legionnaires!

20° this morning with a high of 30° expected. 20-30mph winds will have it feeling like the teens. 4° for tonight with a high in the teens tomorrow will make if frosty tomorrow. Still going to take the monster for a walk when the sunrises so bundling up a must.

Need to take it to A&M today if we want to move up in the rankings come Monday.

Go Cats!

God Bless you all and have a great day.

Good morning folks.

Freezing cold in Northern Kentucky. Took a long walk this morning and still trying to thaw out. We haven’t had a day this cold in Maryland yet.

Blessed to get to spend this time with my family. Mom and dad are hanging in there and taking mom’s illness one day at a time.

Hope the Cats can pull off a tough road win today.

Stay warm everyone.

^ Yep. Woke up to a strange white dust on the grass & a bit blowing on the street. That's a tough weather walk, MD. 20 degrees is about my limit for outdoor walking. Workout this a.m. Probably walk at Florence Mall tomorrow. Usually do that 5-7 times a winter for the worst weather.

Good morning all,

Just rousing...been up for a while. Working around the house today...

GO CATS....

Reading so many negative posters in RR is sickening. How can you even live that way? It's a serious sickness....

Not this Ole boy till they bury me, then I will wish all a good day and hope they've been blessed as I have....

Kick some buttocks CATS,

and I hold a diploma from that joint.....

About sick of the posters posting and confirming a loss before the game is even played. No wonder I rarely waste time in RR. I tried posting a little more lately but there are too many to overcome easily and I do not have any inclination to try... They can live with their defeatist selves... (All before the game is played...)

I can deal with a loss but not with that.....
