Good morning folks. Another crisp, fall-like day in the east.

Well, the Reds pitching has cratered. The decision not to add significant help at the trade deadline already backfiring.

And the Senzel experiment has to end. There is no position on the field where he isn’t a defensive liability. And he’s hitting .230 with little power. It’s like after years of considering him a top prospect the management can’t quite believe the years of accumulated proof that he isn’t very good.

Getting on the subway so I’ll wish you all well and check in later.

Morning Legionnaires!

80° this morning with a high of 104° expected again.

Wife turns 50 today and she is acting like this is just a normal day. She got her first correspondence from AARP last week and just threw it in the trash. She says she does not want a card, party, or gift (yawn, same story every year). I give her $500.00 (separate bank accounts) a month to put into stocks for her retirement so she says that is enough to cover all times of the year. Does not matter, I still get her something on all of the gift giving days. Today will be no different as she is going to work, and I will float around this afternoon looking for a card and something small and simple. Her new office still needs decorations for the walls so...

Reds...Uhhhgggg, yes @MdWIldcat55 pitching...I think they are content with what they have and are just biding their time hoping they can hold on until the injured pitchers return.

Happy Friday Eve everyone and God Bless.

72°F and rainy. We have 1.10" so far. We are to top out at 81.

Nothing else.
If everything goes as planned I want to turn my birds out at
Smith's Grove on Monday..............if there is an open spot near you...(I read about the tree) I would like to maybe turn a flock of pigeons loose. I go to Horse Cave tommorow, Radcliff on Saturday and your neck of the woods on Monday.......I am guessing I will be in Smith's Grove between 9:30 - 10:00........I am going to set my bands up for 10:00 AM..............I won't be hanging out but just a few minutes........as per usual I am days behind on everything......but my pigeon training......that is ahead of schedule 😉 If'n you are busy I plan on training from there a few times......I plan on it being my middle of the week toss until racing season is over in early October.........

Good morning from ATX. Currently 81°F and clear. Sough wind. Today's high expected around 106°F. 27th straight day in triple-digits. Might see heat relief around mid-late August.

- Got a call from oncology yesterday. Going back to every 3 weeks for infusions. Dr. possibly made a mistake on scheduling.

- Visit dermatologist today. Leave here at 10 am. Should return by 1 pm.

- Power surges last night. Grid under heavy load.

- Happy Friday, y'all.

Good morning folks.

Austin, I’m sorry that scheduling mishap occurred. If I’m reading your note correctly, it doesn’t change the good news you got the other day, it just suggests they are being cautious.

Glad to have made it to Friday. Need to make some modest weekend plans. My weight had creeped up beyond where I want it since my surgery and I cut way back on running —and truth be told, my metabolism slowed. So no elaborate restaurant meals -no eating out at all for awhile. Eating restricted meals at home for a couple months. That cuts out some weekend options, but plenty to do around DC.

Heading out for a walk. Catch you all later.

Yeah, I got down to 195lbs and am now back up to 204. Doing the same thing with a lot of eating out. Wife and I had birthdays this week and we just threw caution to the wind, and it came back as a lot of caloric food. Will get it back below 200lbs by the end of the month.

Correct. No change in positive news. Thanks.

Good morning all,

Heading inside soon.

Yeah my weight went up near 20 pounds from my meat fest of the last month and a half being with friends. If it's there, I eat it....trending downward now from 225...🥺...

Was around 205...

Don't have a parachute pants day. Those didn't last too long, though I am wearing a version of them today in my mind. These pants are light but business-like and comfortable on this light Friday...

Have a great day...

Morning Legionnaires!

80° this morning with a high of 103° expected.

Busy morning planned with walking and workout then, cutting the grass before the heat gets to be too much.

Reds lose again. Up and down since the all-star break. Need some consistency going forward.

TGIF for you hard working types out there.

Enjoy your day folks and be careful out there.

God Bless.

Horse Cave is my neck of the woods. Probably 10 miles as a crow flies.

Until my oldest showed up with my grand daughter and now I guess My darling will have to feed them .... I tried I really tried to keep My Darling from cooking. Oh, my oldest will say: "I never asked you to cook"..... That's her excuse for why it wasn't her fault and she knows it.

No problem. Let me know if you need the street address.

Good morning D-League. A bit late heading out for my walk but thought I’d check in first.

Bad night for the Reds. Up 3-0 at home on the lowly Nats they let it get away, including this year’s fans’ whipping boy Nick Senzel hitting a 70 foot pop up with the bases loaded and the game tied in the 9th. This week feels like the beginning of the “it was a year too early for them” narrative. We’ll see.

Hope it’s a good Saturday for everyone.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 80°F and clear. Excessive heat warning remains in effect. Today's high may reach 107°F. No relief expected until at least week after next.

Watched lots of James Bond recently. Aside from "Dr. No" and "From Russia with Love", we watched "You Only Live Twice" and "Diamonds are Forever" over past week or so. Good flicks.

May order Olive Garden tonight. Can redeem that $20 coupon because they screwed up order last time.

Another great day to be alive. Leaving for a walk in a few. Wishing all a kick-ass Saturday.

Morning Legionnaires!

83° this morning with a high for the day in the triple digits again. Supposed to start cooling down for a couple of days starting tomorrow so...Monday or Tuesday morning will be a fishing day. Starts warming back up afterwards into the triple digits again.

Woke up this morning unable to close my right hand. Very painful and I don't know how it happened. Little swelling in the middle knuckle. Painful to type as well. Hunt and peck with the left is the order of the day.

Wife stayed up all night with daughter until about 0400 this morning when daughter went to bed. Wife stayed up and drank coffee with me and will stay up now with her mother and brother coming over. They don't leave normally until after midnight when they visit (practically every weekend). She will be dead tired tomorrow and be complaining come Monday that the weekend went to fast.

You folks enjoy your weekend and God Bless.

Say hello to Arthritis.........My knuckles look like Mickey Mouse hands if I don't take my Celebrex.........

MD, don't know if you knew Mary Ingles has been closed between Tower Hill Rd & Brent for 4 years, but now Ky Hwy Dept has plan to repair & reopen it thru from Dayton all the way to Silver Grove:

For those unfamiliar, pretty & convenient route along OH River in Campbell County. Bert, CSX line runs parallel to road. Road has constantly been sliding down into the Ohio ever since they raised the river pool with the Markland Dam at Warsaw. Don't know how they've been able to maintain the rail line.

VH —oh yeah, I was well aware of that. Had to take the long way around to Dayton/Bellevue a time or two. Glad to hear they are reopening that route.

In my teenage years we used to go out to a drive-in along that stretch when Pike 27 had boring flicks. Was it called Dixie? Or Dayton? Also there was a good steak house along that stretch. Can’t remember the name. They used to have the All-Conference basketball banquets there. I went to 2 of them (slipped that in) -first fancy steak dinners I ever had.

- Calamari and salmon from Olive Garden kicked butt last night

- Another James Bond flick with Sean Connery on the tube late this afternoon.

- Leaving for a hike here in a few.

Great day to be alive. Wishing all an enjoyable Sunday.
