Yes I hunt, but not near as much as I used to. More of a wildlife watcher these days. I do love wild game on the grill. And yeah, people will lie about hunting as much as anything. My dad taught me to be respectful and always obey all game laws, and it stuck. I despise poachers.
Remember when I lived in Georgia, maybe mid 80s, poachers about eliminated the black bear population of N. Ga on into Tn. Killing them for body parts to sell to Chinese. Something like the kidney or thyroid(?) that was supposed to be some miracle cure in China. Would kill the bear, cut out the one body part, and just leave it. As I recall it was a complete syndicate (not large) by the Chinese hiring these hunters.

There will still be take out, but he also said that we shouldn't have more than 8 persons at our house, for Thanksgiving. Gestapo.
My wife came from a family with 10 children, plus a mom and dad. So in the Kentucky governor's world four of them would have to leave on Thanksgiving Day. Is that how this works.

I can not believe people in Kentucky are letting this man push you around like this. Stand up and be counted and tell him to shut up

My cousin has owned 25 acres next to Mammoth Cave National park boundary, for thirty years. He uses it for deer and turkey hunting. A man from Oregon has offered him $100,000 for it. That land is only good for deer and turkey and possibly holding the world together. My cousin refused to sell. His high school friend owns the land attached to his and the same guy offered him another high price and he refused to sell. They have now gone to all the neighbors to form a coalition against the dude so he can’t get any of the land. It is the way Southern folks combat the invasion of the rich Yankees!

Kentucky has started to produce some trophy deer and folks flock to the area. My cousin has problems with folks trespassing and hunting. He has a bunch of cameras and catches them all the time.

Mr. Ben that's a lot of weeping going on there!!!! My neighbor planted one in his yard years ago in memory of his dad, dang roots are growing under my house!!!!!

They're very invasive. Mine has flourished because it is in a lower area that is protected by other trees from the wind, and there is a natural spring that runs right to its base. When we have a lot of rain, it surfaces there.

I told my wife that if I come into contact with him, I will tell him that he cannot tell me what I can do within my own home, and to just shut the heck up. She has been with me long enough to know that I would, too.

I like old trees, too. Not sure how old mine is, but the Ky Forestry guys came to Ashland to look at a Weeping Willow that is on my property. The largest in the country is 411 points, in VA, and mine was 386. They did say that although they do not keep state records on Willow trees, they measure all the big ones, and to their knowledge, it was the largest Willow they had seen. It is 95 feet tall, is 22 1/2 feet in circumference, and has a 165 foot crown. They do not keep state records on Willows, since they were not native to America. They were brought here from Europe. Forestry said they will come back again, this coming summer to measure it again, and submit it, since sometimes trees get hit by lightning, wind, and disease.
Where is the picture?

Good Morning D
Busy!

My wife came from a family with 10 children, plus a mom and dad. So in the Kentucky governor's world four of them would have to leave on Thanksgiving Day. Is that how this works.

I will have company Thanksgiving and Andy can't do a damned thing about it. There are no Kentucky Statutes that says you can’t have Thanksgiving company. The Chief of Police is my neighbor and he will not do anything about Andy’s decree. I know the Sheriff and he is not going to do a damned thing about it.

Andy is drunk on what he perceives as power. A governor’s decree is not law. He is a total jerk.

Andy thinks you should tell family to make an appointment to eat Thanksgiving dinner with you. All I can say is, he better enjoy this term because he'll not get another one.

I went to Bowling Green yesterday and in that 15 mile run down I-65 there were three bucks dead just on my side of the road. It is a shame to lose your life over a little piece of tail.
Going up to Nky there are probably 10-15 deer dead by the road. To be fair it's a total north and south bound, but there are a lot of them. Must be some real honey's running in deer form up there.

Love your optimism, but I don't think there's anyway on earth they stay within 24 of Bama unless Saban is using the game as a scrimmage and just runs basic stuff they want to work on while getting live reps.
I am not optimistic either. The Bama QB is in a race with the Florida QB for the Heisman Trophy. He is going to do his best to light up the end zone with TD passes. I see a minimum of 5 passing TDs from Jones and if Bama really wants to run up the score, watch out.

This is an interesting photo of growing shade tobacco. If you raised tobacco you may know about this. The tobacco was raised "in the shade" to keep the tobacco leaf free of sun spots. By keeping spots off of the leaf it could be used as a cigar wrapper and sold at a premium. The best cigars were void of the sunspots.

Remember a high end cigar shop on the strip at Vegas where you could watch them roll/make cigars. Amazing how quickly those guys could crank out a cigar. Imagine most are machine made.
Being in Florida, I'm sure there are places like that there, especially S. Florida.

Andy is a buffoon and I don't know anyone that will abide his foolish decrees. I am certainly not. He is so woefully inept. Anyone who voted for should be ashamed of themselves.

What is so horrible is that his father, Steve, would call me when he was in my area and Sherry and I would go to "back" him up. Then Steve did that horrific speech after Trump won. I never knew until then how radical he was because we were trying to get commerce into my area.

By the way, Andy's mother is from Bowling Green. I hope that that fact does not ruin our economic growth.

Oh yes, tons of them. Go to the sponge docks at Tarpon Springs and you will see cigar makers who learned their trade in Cuba. They have tobacco seeds taken from Cuban tobacco plants and grow and make excellent cigars. Same for over in Tampa (The Cigar City). Tampa pretty much grew out of the cigar business.

The cigars made at the sponge docks and some of the cigar stores near me are hand made and hand rolled. That is a very interesting process to watch. These folks are skilled at their trade.

I just got back from Publix and found my favorite sausage on the shelf. It is a new item at our store and is selling fast. I bought up a bunch of them. Feeling good today.

As a Finance manager back in the late 80's/early 90's his son was our bank contact. Nice guy. Did NOT have the accent. He transferred to NYC not too long after.
