  • Good Morning, All and Lurkers.
  • Happy Hump Day!
  • We have 37º in Cumming. Blanket cover to keep from freezing.
  • I took a break to listen to Tom Leach. Mack Jones was unbearable. Turned it off.
  • All posts have been liked.
  • Wildlife since Monday have been 9 sightings. Lola barked at the two that we saw this morning. Lola getting some sunbeams right now.
  • Clear and blue sky. Just beautiful.
  • SawneeCat: Hope you are healing and well. Good move on hiring out the lawn mowing. You need to take it very easy.
  • FCC called the other night. Woke me up. I fear he is still intoxicated. He is drinking himself to death. I called him back, but no answer. Poor thing. Pitiful.
  • When is rut?
  • That is it.
  • As you were.
  • Do carry on.
Rut is in full swing here in Kentucky.

Pick your battles brother Sir! Pick your battles...

Oh, A great morning to you all. May your day be filled with eternal riches. Joy unspeakable and full of glory!

A little different type of church music from a time past. I remember first time I watched Cold Mountain I kept playing the church singing scene over and over. From the movie...The Sacred Harp Singers from Liberty Baptist Church in Henagar, AlL

I love old trees, Live Oaks and Cypress are two of my favorites. This one is located in Jacksonville near the St Johns River and is called the Treaty Oak.

The Treaty Oak is an octopus-like Southern live oak (Quercus virginiana) in Jacksonville, Florida. The tree is estimated to be 250 plus years old and may be the single oldest living thing in Jacksonville, predating the founding of the city by Isaiah Hart during the 1820s. It is located in Treaty Oak Park in the Southbank area of Downtown Jacksonville.

Morning D Legionnaires!

Prayers for all who need them (That would be all of us).

Yesterday, wife and I went to commissary for groceries and I suggested getting our turkey there and she complained that she would not pay $1.40 lb for a turkey so, we passed it by. She then looked at other places on the internet and found it for $.98 lb at Walmart. Wants to go there today after work to buy one. I then said, we will go several miles out of our way to buy a turkey for $.98 and spend a few bucks on gas to save maybe a couple of bucks on a turkey. She said "Yes". I just shook my head and said " Can't figure the mind of a woman" and she just chuckled.

Our Kroger had them for .49 lb. Well, Gov Andy just said that he is closing all the restaurants again after Friday. What really frosts me is that he said that in our homes, we can have our family and one other person. That is out and out communism when the govt thinks it can tell you what you can do inside your own home. He can bite me.

That and car warranty calls. I must get two or three a day and all from a different phone number. I always block the call but it doesn't stop them from using a new number.

I usually let them go to voicemail but this morning I answered one. I had a foreign sounding lady on the phone trying to sell me an extended warranty. She got about 10 words out before I let her go. What a horrible way to make a living.

On the car warranty calls, I tell them how much I want one, and how glad I am that they called. Then when they ask me about my car, I tell them I have a 1976 Chev. Vega, with 278,000 miles on it. They hang up without saying another word. If they can waste my time, I can waste theirs.

Good morning from what I consider a chilly Nature Coast

We have 46° at the present and we should reach 69°. The sunshine is bright with clear skies and a low for us of 65% humidity. And I still do not have any heat in my house. I am going to go as long as I can without it.

The lawn boy is mowing outside and the yard is getting a little tender loving care. I often think of poor Les Moore on a day like today. He never knew what hit him

enhance

I've seen that, in Tombstone. Interesting place.

You sound like my brother. I don't answer the phone unless it's somebody we know that's in our Caller ID. Not going to waste my time. But my bro', he loves answering all these crap calls and doing what you do. String them along, give them a hard time, etc, etc.

I don't usually answer them, either, but when you get 5 calls in one day from the same number, I finally get fed up.

You are serious? I know you are but man that just seems wrong. When he closes the restaurants does he allow outside seating? Take out?

And telling you only one person plus your family in your home. How can a governor do that? SMH

Today I was coming back from the Gulf and noticed a lot of school buses with school kids going home. I thought to myself there are places in America where kids can't go to school because of government orders. Where are we headed with this.

There will still be take out, but he also said that we shouldn't have more than 8 persons at our house, for Thanksgiving. Gestapo.

Political question, If they rule/decide Trump has lost this election, how sweet would it be for him to sign an executive order to arrest Pelosi, Schumer, and so on as well as all the democratic governors who needlessly shut down their states and charge them with treason before he leaves the White House. All of them... Could he do that? Are they exempt from these types of charges? I know the left would float it off but before they could it sure would throw some wrenches in their gears..

The Medusa effect....

Oh, good morning all, and I wish you Peace Like a River.....

Rut is in full swing here in Kentucky.
BC are you a hunter? Read in the paper this morning about the hunter killing a trophy deer. He has been arrested for hunting on private property. Scored 2306/8 non-typical. Story is he killed it in Kenton Co., said he killed it in Owen co. and kept the cape and head in Franklin Co.! Can't imagine anybody lying about hunting!!!! He was also charged with drug possession. sounds like he is deep do!!!!! Wood like to see a picture of that deer!

Good morning D, going to be a beautiful day here in the Berg, but it's going to be windy 25-35mph, fire alert out!!!

Good report from the ENT yesterday, staying about the same with the Meniere's disease, doc breaks it to you easy with the old saying "at your age"!!!

Next step in the THIN BLUE LINE badges is done. I baked the glass with the OFFICERS numbers on them this morning, now I will assemble them today, put the hangers on them and hopefully get them presented to the widows before long! Also made one for my son and my best friend and former sheriff!!!

I hope the D has a great day, always prayers for the D!!!!!

Yes I hunt, but not near as much as I used to. More of a wildlife watcher these days. I do love wild game on the grill. And yeah, people will lie about hunting as much as anything. My dad taught me to be respectful and always obey all game laws, and it stuck. I despise poachers.

I am the same way, I can't even watch hunting shows anymore, but I also like to watch deer, we have some ever once in a while come thru the neighborhood!!! I also hate poachers, my son had someone throw a deer head in his driveway because they thought he turned them in!!!

My best memories of my grandfather always involved hunting and fishing. As a young teenager, I would spend the night with them, and we would go frog gigging at night, or squirrel hunting in the mornings. My grandma would fry up whatever we got and make biscuits and gravy. Man I miss that still.

Good morning D League

It has climbed up to 61° and will reach 76° by mid afternoon. We have a small craft advisory alert on the Gulf. Be careful out there.

The picture below is Jackson County, Florida taken in 1895. Must have been a rough winter. I trust your winters are mild and you stay healthy and positive in attitude. We will win in the end. It is written

I like old trees, too. Not sure how old mine is, but the Ky Forestry guys came to Ashland to look at a Weeping Willow that is on my property. The largest in the country is 411 points, in VA, and mine was 386. They did say that although they do not keep state records on Willow trees, they measure all the big ones, and to their knowledge, it was the largest Willow they had seen. It is 95 feet tall, is 22 1/2 feet in circumference, and has a 165 foot crown. They do not keep state records on Willows, since they were not native to America. They were brought here from Europe. Forestry said they will come back again, this coming summer to measure it again, and submit it, since sometimes trees get hit by lightning, wind, and disease.

That’s neat. We have an old Elm tree on one of our farms that is the biggest one I’ve ever seen. I have thought about getting the Forestry department to come measure it but haven’t done it.

Been there. As the crow flies it was very close to where I worked.

I went to Bowling Green yesterday and in that 15 mile run down I-65 there were three bucks dead just on my side of the road. It is a shame to lose your life over a little piece of tail.

You mentioned that and it brought back a memory from a couple years ago. I used to ride the VRE train to work daily to DC before this China Virus. (An enjoyable trip of about 40 minutes. I used to drive and now I could ride and read. The devotion time went way up.)

Anyway, while moving down the track I heard what sounded like a ton of gravel beating up against the train. The conductor came on in a minute or so stating that the train had hit a herd of deer. (That sound I heard sounded nothing like what it was. Just sobering that a bunch of animals would not move out of the way of a fast moving train.)
